What would Christmas be without a new Battlestar in the fleet? Well, that's what my old pal Garry King pondered about eight months ago when he started this 8 foot, 35K+ piece project. Yeah, you read that right. This SHIP is his own design, but those of you familiar with the reimagined BSG series will notice some cues from the Valkyrie-type battlestars, especially in the flight pods. In other shots, however, you can see some Pegasus features, and of course, the Galactica. Overall, it's another tremendous achievement by Garry, with tons of edited pictures on MocPages, so check it out!
Compound curves are no match for BrickNerd's own El Barto, check out the lines on this gorgeous Battlestar! This is the sort of construction that baffles the mind as it feasts the eyes. The photography and photo editing are top notch too, making this the total package. It looks right out of an epic sci-fi movie, you can practically hear the dramatic music and the rumble of the engines.
Like builder Tim C76 I grew up watching sci-fi. After Star Wars erupted on the scene all the studios and every TV network scrambled to get in on some of that hype. As a result we were flooded with the likes of Buck Rogers, Laserblast, Battle Beyond The Stars and Battlestar Galactica. I did watch BG, mostly just to see space battles, and Daggett, I loved Daggett. This excellent interpretation of a Battlestar is inspired by both the classic series and the reboot, and in my opinion melds the best both had to offer.
