That Is One Angry Duck

If I had to choose a single word to describe Disney's venerable anti hero and the original angry bird Donald Duck, it would be "flappable". Not only is it sort of a fun play on words, even if Donald doesn't technically have wings, but we all know what a ticking time bomb of fury he is. This version by Djokson pretty much nails that side of his character.

Archimedes

Disney's The Sword in the Stone has a bit of a checkered past. Though officially considered a moderate success by the company, it has never caught much traction. This is a shame because while it's a bit uneven, it's actually a good film. Archimedes, here brilliantly recreated by Legohaulic, is a stand-out character. If you have the opportunity, give this film a chance.

"That Is The Ugliest Thing I Have Ever Saw"

We're big fans of Lilo and Stitch here at my house. I've seen or heard the movie countless times. I say heard because we have two boys and a Honda Odyssey with a DVD player, I listened to more movies than I saw for many years. Stitch is also a favorite character for all of us, and this version by Takamichi Irie captures his essence perfectly. Nice photo and edit by willgalb too!

Disney Princess Ornaments

I absolutely love these, and I know Mrs. BrickNerd will too. Builder 'rolli is getting ready for Christmas with these adorable Disney princess ornaments. There's Leia (yeah, she's technically a Disney princess now), Ariel, Snow White, Tiana and of course Elsa and Anna. I just might have to recreate these for our house, they're awesome.

Belle And Beast Dance

Ah, a little bit of Disney magic for us. Builder Amida Na has crafted a beautiful and functional music box featuring Belle and Beast dancing. Cogsworth, Lumiere and Mrs. Potts have turned up to watch as well. It's all in a fantastic enclosure with fitting details like the enchanted rose. Check out the video to see it in action.

Do You Think This Wise, Boy? Crossing Blades With A Pirate?

I'm not ashamed to admit I'm a Pirates of the Caribbean fan (well, except maybe the third movie, that was a bit of a mess) and I'm downright proud to say I worked on POTC: On Stranger Tides. But in my opinion the first one is still the best one, and this MOC by vitreolum is one of the best scenes. There's a ton of detail packed into this little diorama, but not so much it's overly complicated. Like Will and Jack, it's perfectly balanced.

Smeeeee!

I was supposed to be at Disneyland this weekend, but I'm not (very sad face). But if I were, we'd be waiting not-so-patiently for the fireworks. I the mean time I'm sure we'd get a Dole whip, probably ride Pirates and Mansion, and maybe if the crowds aren't bad wait in line for Peter Pan. And of course we'd get to see Captain Hook and Tick Tock in their eternal struggle. Luckily i've got this fabulous MOC by 'rolli to give me just a little dose of Disney magic.

Wall•E

Pictures of Angus MacLane's forthcoming LEGO Ideas set surfaced a few days ago. And you didn't see them here because I have a strict policy on leaks and rumors, namely that we don't go there. But I will say I'm every bit (if not more) excited for that set as I ever was. It looks like the inevitable modifications by TLG actually improved the set, which is sadly usually not the case (for necessary or at least arguable, if not heartbreaking reasons). Builder Miro78 is excited too, and built this wonderful logo.

Lumière

I'm a big Disney nerd, so when you combine the bricks with the magic, you've got my attention. I'm also a fan of secondary characters in Disney animated features. I always think they have the best lines and get up to the most mischief. Sure Simba is the star, but Timon and Pumba are way more interesting. And Belle and Beast had a nice story to tell, but my favorite characters are Lumière and Cogsworth. Speaking of Lumière, check out this amazing MOC by Koen, perfect!

The Happiest Place On Earth

I love Disneyland, I was just there last weekend and I'm ready to go back. And seeing this beautiful MOC by builder Swan Dutchman makes me want to go back even more. This is the gateway to Disneyland, just past the entrance where we leave the real world behind and go "inside the berm". Sharp eyed fans will notice something a little amiss, because that's a Florida train at the California station. We'll just call it a magical mashup.

Baymax

My family was excited to see Big Hero 6 for many months. Back in July we visited some friends at Walt Disney Animation and were treated to just a glimpse of the film, we were impressed. So on opening day we were at the theater, and we were not disappointed. So this perfect rendition of Baymax from builder lisqr made me smile and think "I am not fast".
