Cube Your Enthusiasm Contest

The Golden Nerdly is up for grabs! And all you have to do is “Cube Your Enthusiasm!”

LEGO DOTS cubes to be specific. You know, the dangly ones with a loop and soft edges that seem like it would be a challenge to build with? Yeah, that one. (We said the Golden Nerdly was back up for grabs, but we didn’t say it would be easy!)

Seed Parts

You can use any color of cube(s), though they all come with the same orange loop—that is fair game too. Consider both elements to be seed parts for this challenge. Using the cube is a must, the loop is extra credit. The LEGO DOTS Bag Tag sets are fairly cheap and widely available now.

Anything Goes

For a little additional fun, anything goes as long as it features the seed parts. You can build your creation at any scale, using any theme. You can even try out modding, painting, using multiples, photography, digital, crafting, video, destroying it—you name it. But your entry should be focused primarily on the LEGO. (Digital part files are available here.)

Oh, and we cut open a DOTS cube so you can see what’s on the inside. That’s fair game too. And check it out—it’s multi-colored!

The BrickNerd team will be the judges who will evaluate entries based on quality, presentation, composition, concept, creativity, and usage of the seed parts. Attempts at flattery are permitted.

Post your entries to the Cube Your Enthusiasm Flickr group using the hashtags #CubeYourEnthusiasm and #BrickNerd. If you do not have a Flickr account, you can use the hashtags and tag us on Instagram. The deadline is September 12th.

Prizes

Oh, you want some prizes too? We have some prizes. How about some coveted sheep? Enough for a decent flock. (They are like the new goat, right!?) 15 for first place, 10 for second place, and 5 for third place. That sounds pretty good. Prett-ay, prett-ay, prett-ay good!

What’s that? You want a shiny trophy and swag too? Well, you shall have a shiny trophy and swag! How about a GIANT Nerdly too? Each winner (1st, 2nd, and 3rd) will get a Golden Nerdly trophy, a BrickNerd Box full of swag and surprises, and sheep. SHEEEEP!

(Image depicts the likely contents of a BrickNerd Box, but shipped contents depend on whatever cool stuff we have on hand when the contest ends.)
