Instructions to Build a Micro Mack Truck

I think the kid in all of us is still in awe every time we see a Mack truck rumbling by on the highway. These royalty of the road are big, loud, and ubiquitous. So I was pretty excited to get the opportunity to try my hand at capturing the essence of such an iconic vehicle in micro form.

The opportunity came back in 2020 during the summer of DA4! DA is short for Decisive Action—an online LEGO war strategy game I played with something like 20 of my closest frenemies. The number four is because it was the fourth iteration, this time on Flickr, while the previous incarnations were on the now-defunct MOCPages. It’s an exhausting all-out buildathon where you create military and civilian vehicles, structures and more to acquire points to aid in your ultimate conquest of the world. There are politics, shenanigans, and a whole lot of speed-building. I won’t get into it further here as I do hope to cover the game in all its glory (and infamy) at some point here on BrickNerd.

The builds in that game are always done as part of a prompt with certain requirements and in this case the brief was to build a “mercy mission” including showing my faction transporting goods to save another faction. I immediately glommed onto the Mack truck idea and got building, and a little warehouse scene soon came together.

The finished scene!

I feel the Mack truck cab shaping came out especially nice compared to my (admittedly poor) expectations so I thought this might be a nice model to share with all of you! With that, I thought we should share a gallery of all the images in the instructions below (or you can download the pdf or digital Studio file).

At 154 parts (and a BrickLink Stud.io average total part price of $15) that’s not too shabby! I hope you enjoy, and please let us know in the comments below if you choose to build it and how you liked the design!

Will you build the Mack truck? What other vehicles should we make at this scale? Let us know in the comments below!
