With the tragic loss of Alex Trebek last year, I wanted to build a meaningful tribute to the man and his legacy of knowledge. So I built a moving kinetic sculpture of the “Greatest of All Time” tournament and discovered that building LEGO is not too dissimilar to Jeopardy. So you’re drawing a camel, and you’re about half done when a commercial comes on for the Kenner Star Wars Death Star playset so naturally you look up and watch. Now it’s time to continue, but which way to turn the knob? You know this one does the up and down, but which way? Oh, c’mon, you were just doing it, it’s supposed to be natural by now! Ok, let’s go clockwise…GAH!

Here at BrickNerd we like to look back from time to time, and draw squiggles with knobs. This is childhood in a single picture, an iconic toy built from my favorite toy. Everyone remembers trying to draw the family pet or house, only to discover part way through that there was no way to get to that next detail without leaving a bizarre contrail. Then with one mis-turn of a knob and the whole thing was for not. No biggie though, one big shake and it was on to the next drawing. I don't know how old this MOC is, all I know is it was built by customBRICKS, and it's awesome.
