Read MoreAccording to builder Rambles of Orange there's only one way out of this maze. I don't have time to trace and discover it this morning, but perhaps you do. The construction of this is both simple and complex at the same time, it's just 1x tiles connected edge on, but what a wonderfully convoluted and challenging pattern they make. Can you find your way?
This is outstanding! This Maze overlay by Yatkuu is inspired by my all-time favorite zombie movie, Shaun of the Dead. Now we can recreate "the plan" while fiddling our knobs...wait, that came out wrong. Now we can re-enact the events of the film using hand/eye coordination (made more difficult after a couple pints) and get to the Winchester to wait for all of this to blow over.
Plus points for the Cornetto cameo.
My wife and I were talking about Disneyland just this morning, and then I happen across this wonder maze overlay by builder Oky - Space Ranger. There's several recognizable rides and attractions here, from Sleeping Beauty's Castle to the Haunted Mansion, and it looks like a magical good time to play. I'm totally OK with the omission of Mickey's Toon Town, but this thing's gonna need a major overhaul when Star Wars land opens.
I knew we could expect some cool custom maze surfaces for the new LEGO Ideas Maze set, but the thought of making a timed game of skill, especially something as cool as this futuristic factory theme from BrickNerd's own Steebles never occurred to me. Watch the video, this thing is pretty awesome. Next step, lights, sounds and triggered actions, somebody get on that.
I can't say I was surprised when LEGO Ideas announced that the Maze was coming as a set. Builder Jason "JK Brickworks" Allamann is continually amazing us all with his clever mechanical builds. I used to play with one of these classic toys back when they were made of wood and used metal marbles. Now I get to play with one build from my favorite toys, LEGO bricks.
