Chibi In A Half Shell

The world has sorta gone chibi wild these days. Between several AFOL form factors and the official LEGO Brickheadz sets, these squat little large head dudes are everywhere. So I suppose it was only a matter of time before everyone's favorite adolescent reptilian crimefighters made an appearance. Builder DOGOD Brick Design brings us the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!

Hero In A Brick Shell

So what do you do if you're a teenaged turtle, who happens to be mutated...oh and a ninja, when you need that additional amount of firepower? Well, build a mech of course. This is Raphael's mech by onosendai2600. He's not just big and green though, this baby comes equipped with  laser sais, predator cannons, and pizza rama oven blaster!

Rooftop Turtles

OK kids, it's time for a visual effects/LEGO mashup. This MOC employs a technique called forced perspective, where items of diminishing scale are placed to give a greater sense of distance. The use of color in the background is excellent as well, implying what's called aerial perspective where things become less contrasty with distance because of particulate matter in the air. Oh, and hey...turtles.

Turtles getting funky on Saturday night, NYC rooftop style yo!
