Quick Build #8: Little Knight

It's time again for another BrickNerd Quick Build! Quick Builds is a series of small LEGO creations you can build with just a handful of parts. This creation was inspired by a specific part while looking for ideas to build something for the Summer Joust's Heroic Duel contest category.

The Iron Knight

A few weeks back, I received some bulk LEGO I purchased a while ago. As usual, I forgot what I ordered and was very surprised when I found this 2x2 slope piece in light bluish gray. I thought I had never seen it before, and it felt like receiving an Iron Builder part.

Inspired by the curious shape, I started playing with it and came up with this small knight figure. The little guy looked so cool in person, I thought, why not share the instructions?

Instructions to Build a Little LEGO Knight

The build starts with my all-time favorite part, the 1x1 brick with studs on four sides, also known as Travis or SNOT brick. It is just so amazing for building things in small spaces.

Here is the knight’s part list that you can download for the small guy.

A Peculiar Part

I did a little research about the piece after the knight was ready, and it turns out it was introduced in 2022 with the 10302 Optimus Prime set in metallic silver. Then it came out in flame yellowish orange in the botanicals 10309 Succulents set (a beautiful set that I'm still missing from my collection) and in 76254 Baby Rocket's Ship (who doesn't want a Baby Rocket figure—too cute!).

And finally, it came out in light bluish gray with the awesome 71799 Ninjago City Markus… I mean Markets. The part is a bit pricey right now according to BrickLink, but this will probably change in the upcoming months and hopefully the slope will be released in more sets and colors. The cheapest way to get this part at the time of publishing is from LEGO’s online Pick a Brick service by searching for design 1762. Have fun building!
