A new month is upon us which means more competitive building! Are you ready? Here’s the latest batch of LEGO contests and challenges from all around the AFOL community for October 2023 to help you find some inspiration and motivation to build! There’s nothing quite like a theme or a prompt to take you out of your comfort zone and give you something new to try. Besides, contests are the perfect place to interact with other contestants and judges and get to know your fellow builders. And if you’re like me, a deadline helps make sure you actually finish!
We’ve listed them in order of deadline so you can plan your building time to the best advantage. Make sure to check the LEGO activity calendar for local challenges and events near you. Here at BrickNerd, some of our fondest memories, greatest building achievements, coolest trophies, and best friendships came from LEGO contests, so we really hope you try some of these out. We look forward to seeing what you build!
Get in on the theme of October by building mechs!
Deadline: Weekly deadlines throughout October

Science, Technology, Engineering and Math! All four of these fields demand innovation, creativity and problem-solving. Designing the next LEGO Ideas x Target set will also demand these three skills!
Deadline: October 17th
Prize: The five entries that make it through to the fan vote stage will each receive 21343 Viking Village, 21342 Insect Collection, and 21340 Tales of the Space Age, and the overall winner will also have their entry turned into an official LEGO set!

Lofi Girl boasts a fantastic community that enjoys the calming and relaxing ambiance of Lo-Fi music.
Where is it that you would like to escape to and relax while building and listening to music? Build those spots featuring the iconic Lofi Girl character. Real or make-believe.
Deadline: October 17th
Prize: One Grand Prize Winner will receive the following: 21334 Jazz Quartet, 21329 Fender Stratocaster, 21323 Grand Piano,10312 Jazz Club, and The Lofi Girl's Plush Collection; additionally, two runner-ups will win the 21329 Fender Stratocaster, 10312 Jazz Club, and The Lofi Girl's Plush Collection

BrickCentral DreamZzz
Challenge
A new month means a new theme! This month, it's all about DreamZzz. Be creative and show your dream world!
You can either take a picture of one of the new LEGO DreamZzz sets or grab your bricks and create your very own dream world. Whatever you decide, show how you are taken away into your dream world.
Deadline: October 28th
Prize: Just the fun of building!

It’s officially Spooky Season! Celebrate with the usual minifigure habitat format for some spooky fun MOCs.
Deadline: October 29th
Prize: Some epic prizes to be announced soon.

October is the most spooky of the months, filled with beasts and creatures, so welcome to Orctober! Yes, you have to build an orc. It can be any type of orc, in any color, any size, with or without a weapon. And because it's also Mechtober, you can even build a Mech orc!
Deadline: October 31st
Prize: Three amazingly cute custom orc trophies.

Brickscalibur arrives in November but there is an amazing initiative to help newer builders close the gap in parts and collection size. The Brickscalibur team will be sending three applicants a fantastic collection of parts to help in building their own castle creations.
Deadline: October 31st
Prize: Three recipients will be mailed a collection of useful elements to jumpstart their castle building complete with three fantastic minifigures.

Our happiest memories help us produce the strongest Patronus Charms! In the Wizarding World, the Patronus Charm is a defensive spell that produces an amazing animal guardian. However, that animal can take many forms! With over 100 different animals that can represent you, we want to see that animal built using LEGO Bricks!
Your submission should:
Only be an animal that can be a Patronus animal.
Be using primarily blue elements. Any shades of blue.
Deadline: November 14th
Prize: The winner will recieve 76414 Expecto Patronum, 76391 Hogwarts™ Icons - Collectors' Edition, 76419 Hogwarts™ Castle and Grounds, and 76405 Hogwarts Express™ – Collectors' Edition, and two runner ups will also recieve two (different!) assortments of Harry Potter sets!

Nerdvember is only a month away! What will be our theme? What will Nerdly be up to? Stay tuned and get ready to build for this most nerdy of contests!

The Wandering Skies contest is back! Put your floating island, airships, storytelling, and all ‘round epicness skills to the test! It’s time to take to the skies once more!
