Steamy Pew Pew

The distinguished gentleman know that when it comes to personal defense, there's absolutely no reason that the apparatus need be without style or panache. The Winchester Action Thermal Steam Operated Neutralizer, or WATSON Pistol is just the thing for standing down a rogue and doing it with flair. Now available at Higby and Bloque, and wherever fine firearms are sold.

Sir Wizard Mecha-Nic Stronghold

This ramshackle castle punk fortress by builder hrtx is as confusing to the eye as it is appealing. So many angles, so much detail, so much storytelling, it's lovely. I don't know what they get up to in this complex structure, but one look and you ache with curiosity. I guess that's why it's a stronghold, to keep you from finding out.

Steaming Gracefully Through The Clouds

Now this is how you make an entrance! Builder baz is a newcomer to the AFOL scene, and this is quite the way to jump in. This is his first built, and it's 3 feet long, 3 feet high, 2 feet wide, and weights 10 pounds. But size isn't everything (in fact, it's not much in my opinion), this is just some stellar building and lovely steampunkery. Welcome to the fold baz!

Steampunk Gundam

Mashups are all the rage, you can't go anywhere without seeing a Star Wars this or a Doctor Who that. But just taking two or more beloved franchises or themes and mashing them together isn't enough, there's got to be a clever hook, some humor or in the case of this Steampunk Gundam by M<0><0>DSWIM, totally badassery. I want to see this thing storming the battlefield, I want to hear the chuff and joints squeal, I want to smell the coal burning. This thing is awesome.

Fashionable Steam

This gentleman and lady are all ready for an elegant night out. And they'll arrive in style and expedience with this lovely steam powered automobile by Moko. It's not just the latest technology, it's fashionable with it's deep forrest green paint, gold and silver plated details, and smart spoked rims. They'll be the talk of the town tonight for sure. And if they aren't the talk of the town it's probably because everyone was distracted by the huge bipedal steam powered walker.

Florence's Machine

"Step right up ladies and gentlemen to see a wondrous marvel of the modern age! This steam powered wonder is Florence's Machine and you'll be amazed and astounded! Just look at all that plumbing and mechanical wizardry, it's truly a fabulous mechanization!"

"What's that son? What's it do? ... I have no idea boy and that's beside the point! Just look at those gears and listen to it chuff, it's an absolutely astonishing apparatus..."

Mk IV Automaton

Builder 2 Much Caffeine imagines the power of steam and the first quantum clocks in The Mark IV Automaton. Can you just imagine if the early breakthroughs in electronics and computers would have coincided with the age of steam power? It would have been really impressive. Then again we still can't get a robot to reliably open a door, so things might have gotten messy.

Don't Cross The Steams!

Like most people I am quite excited to see the upcoming Ghostbusters re-boot but imagine if the story was taken back into the Victorian Age and given a Steam Punk makeover. Thats what Cpt. Brick has done! With stories of Fish & Chip eating Eco-plasm and unfriendly Librarians the scene is well set. All thats missing is an Ecto 1 for the Phantom Catchers to rush through the street of Old London Town in. "I say old chap, be a good fellow and don't cross the steams!"

Mobile Mechanized Tesla Cannon

The discriminating gentleman knows quality when he sees it. Like this finely crafted electromechanical wonder from the fine folks at Kaisers Werkstatten (and Captainsmog). This is the Mobile Mechanized Tesla Cannon, or MMTC. It's the perfect apparatus for a nice stroll about the neighborhood or perhaps showering  a hoard of your enemies with high intensity electrical energy.

Machine N°5

Vince Toulouse has created another striking machine.  You may recall his Polar Transport a while back, this time he's built a bullet train.  It's a fine example of the obscure genre dieselpunk, in fact one of the finest ever built.  This thing is awesome, with bold colors, loads of interesting details, and a fair number of elements I don't think I've seen before.  And those fins made form the mars rover panels are excellent.  The open cockpit on the top is a great idea, too.  Check it out!

Behemoth

A good MOC has all the elements you might expect, like color selection, form continuity, clever part use and good presentation. A great MOC tells a story, evokes emotion or conjures other senses like smell and sound. Can you practically smell the oil and soot of this beast by Captain Smog? How about the squeaking of chain, puffing of steam and grinding of gears, can you hear them? I can.
