Loot Llama

Fortnite continues its dominion over the videogame cultural landscape, with no signs of slowing down. Love it, hate it, or just confused by it all, it has inspired some pretty great MOCs. This rendition of the iconic Loot Llama was made by Pistash, and it’s my favorite brick rendition of it yet.

Plumbing Safety

Plumbing safety is no laughing matter. Every year hundreds of people are injured while improperly using the tools of the trade, and it's no joke. Not to mention the costs of repairs should a small flood happen. I know from first hand experience that a simple toilet overflow at the hands of a 9 year old can blossom into a $20k restoration project (true story). Take this apparatus for instance, a katana fixed to a plunger, can you imagine the damage that could be inflicted should this fall into the wrong....

Sorry, I'm being told this is from a video game, Fortnite or something. Never mind, move along.

Man With The Golden Gun

No, not the Bond villain, this is a different villain, namely Frau Irene Engel from Wolfenstein. Come to think of it, she's also not a man, ignore that title, it makes no sense. Nick Brick built this ornate beauty, using only official LEGO pearl gold elements. This is a build restriction that would challenge even the best builders, but Nick pulls it off beautifully. 

Guybrush Threepwood

Those of you who's faced the wrath of the great pirate LeChuck might recognize this face. That's right, it's Guybrush Threepwood, the main character of the amazing Lucasarts Monkey Island games, and owner of quite possibly the greatest name in adventure game history. We spent many happy hours (and a few frustrated ones) playing those games, and seeing this awesome bust by SuckMyBrick brings back a lot of memories.

Bayonetta

Hey boys and girls! It's time for another round of "Games that Tommy has never heard of!" Yes, I've never played, or actually even heard of Bayonetta. We'll just have to add it to the growing list of games that have eluded me but inspire insanely cool MOCs like this one from builder Umm, Who? I don't know what's going on or who's who (or what) but it's a feast for the eyes.

Eddie Riggs

I've never played Brütal Legend (ok, I'll admit it, I've never heard of Brütal Legend) but I certainly dig this figure of it's main protagonist Eddie Riggs by builder Pepa Quin. And what's not to love? He's a faithful roadie turned post apocalyptic badass, slaying bad guys and rocking out. After learning about this game, with voices by Jack Black, Ozzy and Lemmy, I'll admit I'm intrigued, might have to seek it out.

Loot Llama

Every morning I go hunting for things to blog. Most of the time it's pretty easy, just refresh the Flickr feed and boom, MOCs galore. These days have been a little sparse, making the job a little tougher. So I find it serendipitous that the thing I find this morning represents finding treasure, it's a Loot Llama from Fortnite by builder reticence. It's today's treasure.

Choose Your Color

Any kid that owned a Gameboy in the late 90's (so let's face it, most) recognizes these guys, it's the trainers from Pokemon Red and Blue, the ubiquitous monster catching role-playing game. It gives me great pleasure to present these as they come from a builder you might have heard of, Mr Kevin Hinkle himself. It's good to see you dabbling with the bricks Kevin.

Katsushika Hokusai

I really like the presentation on this latest MOC by Mike Dung. Of course the figure is adorable, like we've come to expect from Mike, but the interpretation of Katsushika Hokusai's Great Wave off Kanagawa is absolutely genius. The feeling of power and motion is in the spirit of the classic print, and sets this MOC apart.

For The Horde!

It's been a while since I've seen characters from World of Warcraft. I've never played myself, but my boys dedicated no small amount of their lives to this game not that long ago. I did see the movie, but like the other non players in the audience, we were all going "huh? who? what?" These are members of the Horde by builder YOS Bricks, namely Cairne Bloodhoof,  leader of Thunder Bluff, Vol'jin, chieftain of the Darkspear tribe and Rexxar, champion of the Horde.

Chocobo & Cloud

I'm not totally up to date with the Final Fantasy series I'm afraid. The last time I played I'm pretty sure it was monochrome on an original Gameboy, so I'm a bit out of the loop. But that doesn't diminish my appreciation for this build by vincentkiew. I don't know who these characters are, but I want to see them in action.

Earthworm Jim And Psycrow

I remember playing Earthworm Jim long, long ago, but for the life of me I can't recall what platform it was on. I do remember enjoying it's quirky animation and style, but nothing else. Of course I recognized these figures from builder captainsmog instantly, so there's hope for my old, dusty memory.

Lunch Time!

If I were at a theme park, or just about anywhere else, and I saw this I would be helpless against it's temptation. I don't know what that says about me, but I don't care. These brilliant little food kiosks by Big_Sal_224 are from the game Theme Park, which I never played, but sure would love to visit. I think the world needs more food-shaped places to get food. 

Proto Man

If you've ever played the classic Mega Man series you might recognize this guy, it's Proto Man, Mega Man's "big brother". I was lucky enough to see this excellent MOC by Builder bruceywan (and Bruce himself) in person at BricksLA last weekend. I never played the game, but I sure enjoy the creations it continues to inspire.

D.A.R.C.I.

The king of prop weapons Nick Brick is back with another phenomenal reproduction. This is the D.A.R.C.I. (Data Analysis, Reconnaissance, and Cooperative Intelligence device) from Destiny 2, a sophisticated sniper rifle with some serious special features. The prop is over 43" and features a light up scope, moving trigger, sliding charging handle and removable magazine. 

Rayman Legends

I was just thinking about Rayman last night (mostly I think because I looked at the icon for Rayman Run on my iPad) so to see him first thing this morning thanks to builder jaapxaap was a bit of a happy surprise. While we're on the subject, did anyone else out there think that the little sound byte in Mamma Said Knock You Out sounded a lot like one of the enemies in Rayman when they get knocked out? I've never discussed this publicly, but I think it's time.

Zaintiraris Chamber

Have you ever got to any point in any game where you thought, "I should have saved", yeah, of course you have. Play any game for long enough and you'll get a better feel for when you might be in peril, or just pay attention to the giant weapons, numerous sharp objects and remains of previous hapless adventurers and perhaps get a hint? The question is, what did you do Xenomurphy?

Seel

In his ongoing quest to "Build 'Em All", builder lisqr is back with another Pokemon. This time it's Seel, a water Pokemon that evolves into Dewgong at level 34, becoming 22% less cute in my opinion. The most unfortunate thing about this Pokemon is it thrives in conditions that will kill most trainers, so you'll need a big coat to see it in it's element, but your drinks will not need ice.

NES Classic Case

At first glance you think "ah, a Nintendo NES". Then on closer inspection you think "wait a second, that's brick-built" and you're impressed. Then you learn that it has a NES classic inside and can actually be played and your mind is blown. What better way to store your minuscule NES classic (that is, if you were lucky enough to get one, I was not). Well played BrickinNick, well played.

Ivysaur

Congratulations, you've just evolved your Bulbasaur into Ivysaur, what are you going to do now? Well, you're not done if you want to get to Venusaur, so time to get training! Make your way to the nearest gym and prepare for battle if you want to be the best there ever was. You can be sure builder lisqr will be there.
