A New Beginning for BrickNerd

Hello fellow BrickNerds! As Tommy announced yesterday, a new era has begun for this corner of the internet covering all things LEGO. Tommy started BrickNerd as a place to share the creativity of fellow LEGO builders, to tell the stories behind the bricks, and to share news from the hobby and community.

The new BrickNerd will follow exactly in those footsteps, with the added goal to increase the connections within the LEGO community. I’ve gathered together some amazing builders and pillars of the community, and we are excited to share with you what we have been working on. Tomorrow we will reveal the full team and what you can expect from us in the future.

One thing we’ve noticed is the LEGO fandom online seems more spread out than ever, and we hope BrickNerd becomes a global hub redirecting you to the best the LEGO community has to offer. We are working to make BrickNerd a place to highlight not only amazing MOCs but the builders behind them-- the AFOLs, designers, customizers, filmmakers, writers, organizers and more who all collectively use LEGO to build connections within the LEGO hobby. We also hope to shine a light on some aspects of the hobby that haven’t received that much attention.

You can expect regular posts highlighting MOCs and WIPs, build techniques, interviews with builders, convention news, contests, in-depth conversations on relevant topics, insight behind the LEGO company, and more. We will draw on the expertise in the community to talk about building, sorting, transporting, lighting, photographing, collecting, buying, and customizing LEGO.

Overall, we want BrickNerd to be a place to come together and celebrate the culture of building LEGO. Thank you for coming with us as we start this new journey, pardon our dust as we get everything up and running, and join us in thanking Tommy for creating BrickNerd and trusting us with his vision.
