LEGO Contest Round-Up for August 2022

[Our current monthly LEGO contest round-up can be found here.]

Another month of competitive building is upon us! Are you ready? Here’s the latest batch of LEGO contests and challenges from all around the AFOL community (and our newest Pirate contest right here at BrickNerd!) for August 2022 to help you find some inspiration and motivation to build! There’s nothing quite like a theme or a prompt to take you out of your comfort zone and give you something new to try. Besides, contests are the perfect place to interact with other contestants and judges and get to know your fellow builders. And if you’re like me, a deadline helps make sure you actually finish!

We’ve listed them in order of deadline so you can plan your building time to the best advantage. Make sure to check the LEGO activity calendar for local challenges and events near you. Here at BrickNerd, some of our fondest memories, greatest building achievements, coolest trophies, and best friendships came from LEGO contests, so we really hope you try some of these out. We look forward to seeing what you build!

As we approach the LEGO Group’s 90th anniversary on August the 10th, we invite you to start putting together minifigure habitats and/or Minifigures On Parade (MOPs) Modules (see the details on how to build those below).

Between now, and August 10th, we invite you to build using either (or both) of these formats using classic homegrown LEGO Themes: Town, Space, Castle, Pirates, Ninjago. Or even Fabuland, Paradisa, Western, Time Twisters or more. If its a Home Grown LEGO Theme that you grew up with, it’s fair game. If it’s older than you, its even fairer!

Deadline: August 11th (10:00am UTC)

Prize: The prizes will be drawn randomly, and are a copy of 11021 90 Years Of Play for each of Town, Space, Castle, and other classic themes in both the Habitat and MOPs division.
