LEGO Contest Round-Up for February 2022

[Our current monthly LEGO contest round-up can be found here.]

Another month of competitive building is upon us! Are you ready? Here’s the latest batch of LEGO contests and challenges from all around the AFOL community for February 2022 to help you find some inspiration and motivation to build! There’s nothing quite like a theme or a prompt to take you out of your comfort zone and give you something new to try. Besides, contests are the perfect place to interact with other contestants and judges and get to know your fellow builders. And if you’re like me, a deadline helps make sure you actually finish!

We’ve listed them in order of deadline so you can plan your building time to the best advantage. Make sure to check the LEGO activity calendar for local challenges and events near you. Here at BrickNerd, some of our fondest memories, greatest building achievements, coolest trophies, and best friendships came from LEGO contests, so we really hope you try some of these out. We look forward to seeing what you build!

Rover month is back! Grab your bricks and create small rovers inspired from LEGO Space themes or from any Sci-Fi universe. Just follow your imagination! The only rule: it must be a trippy ground vehicle with wheels or treads (the number is up to you). Any color schemes are allowed. Read about the history of Febrovery here!

Deadline: As long as it’s February, it’s FebRovery!

Prize: No prizes, just awesome rovers!

This Flickr group is all about building cool stuff with Bionicle parts that doesn’t look like yet another Bionicle figure. The contest started Dec. 11th and asks builders to make anything Bionicle they want… as long as they can make it using only the colors that each category demands - or rather, as long as it doesn’t use the color the category says not to!

Deadline: February 15th

Prizes:
LEGO set 75531 Stormtrooper Commander
LEGO set 75121 Imperial Death Trooper (both provided by BZPower!)

The idea: build a character out of LEGO bricks (not minifigures) that is going to be your space bandit and will try to steal some rovers. It can be any alien species or human—no robots. It can have mechanical elements but it should be some sort of living thing. You can build in any scale, but it is recommended to keep it relatively small or at least not huge.

Deadline: February 28th

Prize: Three brick built trophies for the top three characters built by BrickNerd’s Dan Ko!
