Wouldn’t it be cool if modern cruise ships had a bridge like the one on a Star Destroyer, like this one from builder Jonathan_S? I Cruise on Disney pretty often, and I like to imagine the captain looking out the front of the boat through windows like this, with the crew submerged in pits behind him. Then we see a Carnival ship on the horizon and send out the TIE fighters…
If you have a fear of heights you may want to look away. In so many classic adventure movies and action serials, the slatted suspension bridge was a nefarious obstacle. Who can forget Indy vs the Thugee warriors on the bridge in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom? Of course in the movie the rock walls of the cavern were sort of plain and uninteresting. Not the case in this excellent MOC by builder W. Navarre. The stratum of the rock is my favorite feature of this build.
Ground troops need to get where they're going quickly, and pausing to construct a bridge is a good way to not go anywhere quickly. This is the genius of armored vehicle-launched bridges. Just drive up to that creek or ditch, back this baby up and drop a bridge right on it. This LEGO version by Tommy Styrvoky not only looks the part in stunning detail and construction, it's fully functional with remote control. Check out the video to see it in action.
Built for the Wedding Planning category in the MocAthalon on MocPages, W. Navarre has created this amazing cliff hangar train-going-off-a-bridge scene. "Build your ideal wedding" He's got bandits, a demolished bridge, and a rocky cliff. The bride, the groom and the pastor are all at the front of the train as it hurtles towards the abyss. Now that I think about it, that's pretty much how most people feel on their wedding day, at least a little bit.
