The King Under The Mountain

It's been said that wealth corrupts, and there are few stories of wealth corrupting more than the story of Thrór (albeit fictional). With the accumulated wealth of the dwarves mines and his beloved Arkenstone there were few richer in Middle Earth, and few more mad. Builder Pate-Keetongu brings us this brilliant brick-built version.

To War!

At first glance you might expect this latest entry to Iron Builder to have made excellent use of the handcuffs seed part, but you'd be wrong. The seed part is the pitchforks in this thirteenth IB build from 6kyubi6. And yes, the pitchforks are in there, but wow, there hasn't been this clever use of handcuffs since Fifty Shades of Gray.

The Beards Of Old

When seeking wisdom, dwarves sometimes visit the statues of their elders. When I'm seeking wisdom, I visit Wikipedia. One of these seems more noble than the other. Builder Legonardo Davidy has taken stone beards to the next level with this MOC. Just look at that sculpting!

The Company Of Thorin Oakenshield

When Builder Pate Keetongu posted his first pictures of dwarves just before the premiere of The Hobbit in 2012 we all knew he was committed. I mean, once you have a couple, you might as well make them all right? Well, it's been nearly two years in the making (with plenty of other MOCs in-between) but now the company of the King Under the Mountain can finally make their way back to claim what is theirs. Thirteen dwarves, all individually styled and carefully realized, plus Bilbo and Gandalf, this is nothing less than epic. The Heirs Of Durin

Builder Pate-keetongu is back with more of his merry (ok, some of them are grumpy) band of deposed dwarves hell-bent on retaking their domain from a irritable dragon. This time it's the King under the Mountain, Thorin Oakenshield and his nephews Fili and Kili.

Kili

Pate Keetongu is back with another dwarf to add to his Hobbit collection. This time around it's Kili, brother of Fili and nephew to Thorin Oakenshield. As with all the previously built MOCs, this one is loaded with detail and faithful to the movie.

The Throne Of Thranduil

Let's face it, elves can be jerks. And one of the biggest, jerkiest elves is Thranduil (not that I'm 100% on the dwarves side, they can be jerks too). But what he lacks in tact, compassion and like-ability he makes up for in panache and style (except maybe that stupid crown). Flick user lisqr certainly has panache and style as well, and this MOC shows it.

Three More Join The Party

I've been watching the development of this series of MOCs with great interest. Since my original post back in October, Pate-keetongu has created three more Dwarves from Peter Jackson's The Hobbit. I look forward to the day when the entire party is in a single shot, it will be epic.

Barrel Escape

December is almost here, and with it come holiday cheer, ginger bread lattes and... oh who am I kidding, it's all about Desolation of Smaug! Disco86 brings us this excellent MOC depicting the hair raising barrel escape. 

Dwarves Ready For Adventure

As anticipation of the second chapter the The Hobbit, several MOCs have been appearing. But few are as phenomenal as these. Bombur, Bofur and Bifur look ready for some serious adventure. You do realize Pate-keetongu, than now that you you've made this many, you're obligated to make the entire party, right? (and I can't wait to see it)
