A LEGO Brickumentary Is Out On Home Video!

A LEGO Brickumentary is finally out on home video! As many of you know, BrickNerd Studios produced over 8 minutes of original animation for this film, and it was a fantastic opportunity. If you love the brick (you must, you're ready my mostly terrible blog) you'll love this heart warming and informative documentary about how LEGO touches the lives of so many around the world.

EV3 Mosaic Printer

This is pretty cool! Thanks to the limitless possibilities of EV3 and the creative brain of JK Brickworks we can now watch a LEGO machine build a LEGO mosaic. Not only that, but he created some excellent videos to document not only the working machine, but some of the progress in building it. It's mesmerizing to watch, and fascinating to learn how it all came together.

Mosaic Printer - Prototype 2

The first prototype for my LEGO mosaic printer project. It uses LEGO Mindstorms to scan an image and recreate it as a LEGO mosaic using 1x1 LEGO plates. Part 1: In this video I introduce the project and explain how I pick up and place the plates.

The Wheels Of Steel

DJ, artist and LEGO aficionado Arran Hearn has updated his Technics DJ setup and there's a really cool video to go along with it. I've never actually touched a real DJ setup before, but I've done my fair amount of damage to my own turntables and records over the years.

EB.TV #30 - 30.09.2014 Australian graphic and web designer Arran Hearn was addicted to Lego from his early childhood. Alongside his background in the hip-hop scene and active turntablism he brings all of these passions together in a wonderful way.

Dwarven Dreams

I am quite honored to have a key member of Brotherhood Workshop, Kevin Ulrich, working with me on a super top secret animation project. While I can't share any details of that (yet) there is a new video from LEGO and Brotherhood Workshop on YouTube. Enjoy!

Bilbo and the Dwarves, while in search of Smaug's treasure, dream of what they will do with all that gold.

Naughty Robot

Pete Reid and Chris Salt have stumbled across some evidence of some otherworldly electro-mechanical mischievery. This little robot really means no harm, but he is a little shy, and just a tad clumsy. Check out the video.

If you've read the best Lego book in the world (http://www.amazon.com/LEGO-Space-Building-Peter-Reid/dp/1593275218/), you may recognise the context. If not, well, I guess you're just going to have to read it. This is really just a Blender animation test. It's not quite The Lego Movie but, hey, we all have to start somewhere.

Way Cool Video From Way Cool Books

If you've read my reviews of the Amazing Vehicles books (you have, haven't you?) then you know I'm a fan. Well, this video is every bit as awesome as the books. No, you won't learn to build them from it, but if you can appreciate excellent animation and groovy beats, check this out.
