Read MoreBuilder Eero Okkonen is back with a ravishingly lovely figure from Magic the Gathering. This is the Wanderer, who according to Eero is “a mysterious individual with a habit of planeswalking from world to world slaying monsters and enemies with her decently-sized sword.”
I’ve never played Xenoblade Chronicles 2, so I didn’t recognize this character at first, but a quick google search revealed just how faithful a representation of Poppi ⍺ by builder Bodhi Poharu this is. And while she may be frustratingly fragile, the effort to build and photograph her was totally worth it.
I continue to be fascinated with builder Moko’s ability to not only make sleek and shapely figures, but to make them so posable. This one doesn’t seem to be based on any particular character, not that I would have any idea who it is anyway, but at least I don’t have to try and learn a bunch of stuff to share with you that I will immediately forget.
Builder Kingmarshy is getting a little ahead of himself since it's still Year of the Dog, but this entry for the Bio-Cup contest looks like a winner to me! I'm normally not a Bionicle fan, but this gluttonous creature, Zhu Bajie the Pig, and the fancy spread he's enjoying has a great blend of system parts, really bringing him to life. And even though Kingmarshy spent quite a bit of time on this awesome creation, he was actually ready to build something else in a half an hour.
When people scoff at Bionicle and Hero Factory about not being "real LEGO" or too limiting, I like to point them to creations like this jaw dropping figure from Moko. While it may not be stacked, studded bricks, it's still LEGO, and it's still an amazing creative tool. This king of the Greek gods looks ready to dispense some thundery judgement.
Yes, technically she's a demon, but admit it, she's cute huh? Meet Malva, a mischievous little minx from builder lingonkart. A combination of clever joints, as well as ample use of both large and small ball joints makes this figure super posable and therefor super expressive. Click through for more pics.
Can something be beautiful, terrifying, intimidating and beaconing at the same time? This MOC by Moko makes me wonder. There's so many interesting details and fascinating forms you just want to get closer, but that stance, that attitude, and especially that right arm make you wonder just how close you should get.
Dear "Mom"
It's my second day aboard the new space station, I wish I could tell you it's name and where it is, but it's still a secret. My quarters and roommates are good, just like you said they would be. The food is just ok, but I understand there's a better commissary on a deck much further down (you wouldn't believe how big this place is). This morning we captured a freighter and my first official duty is to guard it, I have to be there in 20 minutes. I think it's a pretty cool ship, but my roommate says it looks like a pork burger. Regardless, I need to get to my post. Just thought I'd send a quick note. Having fun in space!
Love,
