State Theater

 I love a good old theater, one that was built with the full theatrical experience in mind, when craftsmanship mattered. I love it even more when modern day people acknowledge the importance of an old theater and take steps to preserve it. This is the State Theater in Hong Kong, built by Alanboar and his friend Mythbot. The model was built as part of the conservation efforts to save the classic theater. You can view many more pictures, including the fully decked out interior and read more about the project at Alanboar's website.

Legoland Theater

I love movies, always have, and I love going to the movies. There's something so special about the shared experience in a darkened space that you just don't get at home. Of course you also don't usually have to walk on a floor covered with "cinemuck" and have to listen to some jerk on his phone when you watch at home (if you do, you have my sympathy). So this excellent theater by RVA LUG resonates with me. And with the custom lighting, cool posters by none other than Paul Lee and clean, retro look, it's an absolutely awesome creation. Gotham Theater Showdown

One of the things I look forward to at BrickCon every year (at least every year I get to go) is seeing Brickbaron's over-the-top MOCs in person. It seems every one of his creations out does the last, and the stakes just continue to grow. This latest Batman inspired MOC is jaw-dropping in every aspect. The bold, bright colors and clean lines make this look like an illustration from a distance, leaping right off the page of a comic book. But the architecture is the unsung hero of this MOC, just check out that art deco theater, it's gorgeous.
