Snowy Owl
/Mr Owl is here to remind us that it's still winter, at least according to his friend the groundhog. This visually stunning piece by Azurekingfisher makes very effective use of the white foliage piece, making for an eye catching profile.

What are the odds that we'd get two back to back brilliant kinetic sculptures in one day? In celebration of Canada's 150th anniversary builder JK Brickworks built this amazing mechanical display of two fur traders canoeing in some distant northern waterway. Check out the video to see this in action.
This evocative hands sculpture by builder timofey_tkachev made me catch my breath. I actually got goosebumps when I first viewed it. Perhaps it's the lifetime of making that has instilled a reverence for hands, my own included. They are my life, my livelihood, my tools. The pose, fluidity, lighting and construction of this MOC is awe inspiring.
I really relish this new creation by Jonathan Lopes! Inspired by the character in Richard Scarry's children's books, Jonathan dill-igently sculpted all the curves of not only the car, but old Mr. Frumble as well. I just hope all these pickle puns don't leave a sour taste in your mouth.
Ryan Rydalch has put together a fantastically artistic scene, showcasing a sculptor in his natural habitat. The monochrome creations surrounding him are pristine and exquisite in their detailing, especially the stag near the back. He also uses some great backgrounds which really bring out the color (or lack thereof) in the piece.
JK Brickworks has come up with a crafty LEGO version of everybody's favorite boulder pusher from Greek mythology. Doomed to an eternity of rolling that huge rock up a hill, only to watch it tumble back to the bottom, Sisyphus probably shouldn't have tried to outsmart Zeus. That never ends well. Check out the video to see the cutaway and all the interesting technic bits inside. You might just end up watching it over and over and over...
