LEGO Simpsons?
/BrickNerd is way too new and small to be even a faint blip on LEGO's PR radar, so I get my news like you guys, from the internets. I saw several posts about LEGO announcing that The Simpsons would be coming in 2014. But I've seen no official image, no official news release excerpt and no page on lego.com. It all seems like either rumor or leak. Either way, LEGO is quiet.
Exterminate!
/I've had plenty of friends try and get me into Dr. Who, and try as I might, I've never been able to get into it. I've also never been able to understand how carwash vacuums equipped with plungers are scary. But there's no doubting their popularity, and these renditions by LegoAvon are spot on.
Island of Acilly
/Out in the open sea lies the Island of Ascilly, and it's lovely. I love the arched windows, the details on the tower and irregular roofing. So much detail in a relatively small castle. A great build by The /\rchitect.
Utopia
/This scene from Simon S. is gorgeous. I like to think when I get caught in a temporal rift or wormhole and find myself transported back in time to the middle ages I will end up in a place like this. Where I will use my mad computer skills to convince the locals I'm a wizard and get free bread and stuff.
ST-XM1/D Hoplite
/For some reason this mech by SPECTRE reminds me of a shop class teacher I had in middle school. You know the type, preaching about safety and pointing at you with his three remaining figures. As far as mechs go, this thing is pretty beefy. It looks like it means business.
Tranquility
/The Ironbuilder challenge between Pasukaru76 & Gilcelio is still going, and no matter which one of those two is victorious, we all win. This latest MOC by Pasukaru76 is very zen, I feel more relaxed just looking at it.
Batrod
/Here at BrickNerd we like to dredge up the past, like that one time this guy's parents were murdered and he became a billionaire vigilante super hero. This is one of my favorite batmobiles of all time, the Batrod by _Tiler. Not only is this a brilliant build, the photography is top notch. Amazing what you can do with a little patience and a desk lamp.
What Is It?
/Truth is, I don't know. According to builder the oneman it's inspired by Bladerunner and Ian McQue. All I know is it looks very odd and very cool. The photo is nice too, it almost has a painterly quality about it.
RAMPAGE!
/I'm a kid of the 80's. Part of the generation that played PONG, wore parachute pants and dumped countless quarters into arcade machines. A somewhat later arrival to the 8-bit game revolution was this game, Rampage. It was the first game I know of where you scored points for not only smashing the crap out of everything, but even eating those pesky humans. Good times, good times.
Collectible Minifigures Series 11
/There has been images floating around for weeks, but it's finally official. LEGO has announced series 11 of their wildly popular collectible Minifigures line. My personal favorite is the Island Warrior, but the Welder is a close second. Now if I could actually get them locally...

BrickFair VA
/BrickFair is go!
The AFOLs have gathered and setup is in the works. If you're going to be in the Chantilly VA area this weekend swing by the Dulles Expo Center and check out some amazing LEGO creations by very talented builders.
Qach Batlh!
/OK, tell the truth, you glanced at this pic and thought for one fleeting, optimistic moment it might be an official UCS set didn't you? This is a seriously big, beautiful ship from ~The Steads~. I really wish LEGO would have gotten the rights to Star Trek, instead of a certain other brand of bricks. Maybe then we would have gotten something this cool.
