The Northland

This micro scale relief map of The Northland by THE BRICK TIME Team reveals the scope of the territory of the Northland Realm. I've never seen a micro build on this scale before, in fact it's a little hard to call it micro when it could cover a table. I love the detail, diversity and imagination here, there's just so much to look at. I want to program a motion control lipstick camera to fly over this.

Now This Is Podracing

There have been a great many steamy Star Wars MOCs in recent weeks, thanks to our pals at FBTB and their MOC Madness Steam Wars contest. I know I haven't featured many here, I'm not sure why really. But this one from builder Legopard just had to be featured. I really dig the giant plumes of steam bellowing out of the engines of this Podracer, and if course Watto's junk shop reimagined as a victorian "junkvilla", but I'm totally smitten with that mechanical dewback.

Just A Little Pricey For A Unique "Fixer-Upper" Opportunity

Ok, now that you've glanced at the picture and you're reading this pause a moment and look again, it's smaller than you think. Take a look at the figures out front, those are microfigs. This brilliant interpretation by Orion Pax of the classic firehouse from Ghostbusters is only 16 STUDS WIDE! perfect size to fit on any bookshelf. Click through for more pics.

Battlestar Galactica

Following the epic box-office success of Star Wars, there was what can only be described as a glut of science fiction shows and movies, trying to capitalize on the momentum. Most of the shows were crap, but we did enjoy Battlestar Galactica. It helped that the visual effects were done by Star Wars alumni John Dykstra and his company Apogee.  It would appear Lego Admiral was a fan too, judging by his faithful and excellent Cylon Raider and Colonial Viper.

Exo RAWR

Time is running out to enter the Exo RAWR contest on Flickr, sponsored by LifeLites, FBTB and BrickNerd. You are challenged to build a Exo RAWR (Reinforced Animal Wearable Robo-Suits). These entries by Yatkuu and Pixel Fox are both amazing. I just about spit tea this morning when I saw the Beast of Unburdon. You can enter until 11:59 8/31 GST, get building!

Anyone Got A Quarter?

Being a kid of the eighties, I lost (invested?) a considerable amount of coin in these wonderful time wasters, but I don't regret it. The golden age of the video arcade is over, but like it, big hair, gloves on one hand a parachute pants, I got to experience it first hand. I lived it. You can try to recreate the experience by backing this project on LEGO Ideas. Thanks for a bit of nostalgia msx_80

Mechto-1

Holy mashup! To celebrate the 30th anniversary of Ghostbusters, as well as the upcoming national Ghostbusters day (no really, it's Aug 28) builder ninbendo has created a transforming Ecto-1. This is some seriously ingenious engineering. In it's car mode, it is hardly detectable that there's anything different than the standard model. The giant ghost trap and PKE meter is pretty awesome too.

The Ghostbusters (No Not That One)

This is one of those "out there" builds, but it's also pretty neat. This is based on Filmation's Ghostbusters, not to be confused with the movie we all know and love, and not to be confused with The Real Ghostbusters, the animated series based on the movie. This is the animated series based on the 70's Saturday morning show The Ghost Busters (which I remember, I'm old). It was a favorite of Orion Pax, and now he has his very own playset.
