Ultraman

Not to sound like an old man (like I can help it, I'm an old man) but you kids don't know how good you have it. When I was growing up we had six channels, six! And part of the day at least two had the same thing on. So getting to see something new or cool was rare. Like that time we got to see Ultraman one Saturday, our tiny little minds were blown. This version of the hero by nobu_tary has an awesome, updated look. One thing that sorta turned me off when I was a kid was his big bug eyes and mohawk fin. I think if he had been this cool I might have soiled myself.

Pepto Does Nothing For This

I don't know how I missed this three weeks ago (I blame the holidays) but check out this chest burster from Grantmasters! It's not a big MOC, but it's certainly clever, and what's more is it's purist, that's all legit LEGO. Makes my ribs hurt just looking at it.

Moving Earth

I nearly scrolled right past this mind-boggling MOC by davekuhh. It's not that I have anything against construction equipment or Catepillar, there's just so many of them. But then I noticed an unusual amount of detail, and I was curious what the "sand" was that it was moving. Turns out this thing is absolutely colossal, and that "sand" is a mix of 1x1 and 2x2 tiles! You'll have to click through to truly appreciate this beast, it's over three feet long and really needs to be seen at high resolution.

Robot Companions

When the robots inevitably take over we can only hope our robotic overlords are as cute as these K3 mechanoids from Legoloverman. I mean sure we'll be slaves to them, or possibly just power sources or fuel, but at least they'll be adorable, right?

Witch-king Of Angmar

So you're a king of men, just ruling and being all kingly and stuff. And this dude shows up with a really nice, shiny ring for you. Of course you take it right? Well, if it turns out it's a ring of power, and the dude that gave it to you was the dark lord of Mordor (and he has his own ring that sorta controls yours), and now you're destined to be a ringwraith. but hey, at least you're the leader right? And then a brick artist named nameless_member builds a nifty MOC of your helm, so you have that going for you.

Rita

Builder Bricks Noir is back with another gorgeous silhousaic. This time it's 1940's sex symbol Rita Hayworth. The contouring, construction and color selections on this piece are perfect and seemingly effortless. It's complex construction that's simple to look at, and as classy as the lady it's portraying.

The Swindle

I've never heard of this game, but this brilliant MOC by Gregory Coquelz made me curious enough to look into. It looks amazing, both the gameplay and the design. The aesthetic of the game is awesome, and translates pretty well to this build.

War Elk

I propose this elk is the perfect response to the problems currently happening at Yosemite. We'll just gather up the lawyers and knuckleheads causing all the fuss, and invite them to negotiate with this splendid beast by Legohaulic.

Micro Nerdly Walker

I love this. With seven parts builder monsterbrick has managed to combine two of my favorite things, namely Nerdly and Star Wars, into one adorable package. I like to imagine this baby trudging through the snow of Hoth, bright red and an easy target in the sea of white, bring it on you rebel scum!

Griffin

As probably terrifying as it would be, I kinda wish some mythical beasts were real. I'm sure dragons would be horrible, and I'll take a total pass on jikininki (seriously, look them up) but how cool would it be to have a very rare griffin spotting? Obviously a face to face encounter would probably be full of suck, but from a distance I bet they'd be magnificent. I mean, just look at this one by builder d' Qiu Brick, stunning!

Rough Week

It's been a rough week, first we lost the Goblin King, then Mayor Lenny Clotch and now professor Severus Snape. I'm not going to get too nostalgic here, just post some past builds. It's how we show our love in the AFOL community. Rest in peace David Bowie, David Margulies and Alan Rickman, you will be missed.

Choose Your Weapon, Clumsy And Random, Or Elegant And Civilized

Builder Cole Edmonson has produced a small arsenal of Star Wars weapons for you to choose from. You can also pick the light side or dark side of the force while you're at it. I personally can't pick my favorite here, so I'll say I'd take them all and be prepared for any occasion.

Cruise Airship

What could be more luxurious than a peaceful cruise amongst the clouds in this opulent floating cruise ship by Vince_Toulouse? Lounging on the deck while a crew member brings you drinks as you watch snow covered peaks drift lazily by, sounds totally Mrs BrickNerd's speed (mine too, sign us up).

Ol' Barney

Everybody knows one, or at least has lived near one. He's the grumpy old man, and when he's not busy shooing you off his lawn, he's griping about his bad back or water on the knee. Builder Centuri shows us just what grumpy looks like, and I don't care if I can't appreciate how good I have it compared to when he was my age, I like him.

Beer Wagon

This isn't the first time we've seen Tom Daniel's classic show rod Beer Wagon in brick form, but it just might be the cleanest. Builder Norton74 knows that sometimes you just can't deliver beer fast enough.

BB-7

Droid development is an incremental process. Sometimes what seems like a good idea turns out to be a bit problematic. Take for instance BB-7 here. As baffling as it may be, the designers decided a cubic form factor would be worth exploring. Eventually as you all know things got more spherical, but this one is pretty much just as cute. Leave it to MacLane to find the corners of everyone's favorite new droid. Check out the video to see how he works.

Tinker Thinker

I have to assume with the coming advances in artificial intelligence and robotics that eventually we'll have cybernetic deep thinkers, robophilosophers if you will. I have to wonder what this drone by builder Si-MOCs is thinking. "What is the sound of one actuator clapping?"

Me 109

The messershmidt Bf-109 is as iconic a WWII aircraft as you can get. I don't want to glorify war, but that was a golden age of aviation, and both the axis and the allies both stepped up with some major innovation. This version, and updated model by Daniel Siskind, can actually be yours in the near future from Brickmania.

Best Idea Ever

What better way to spice up a summer gathering than severe food trauma? Yes, it's Jarts, or lawn darts! Oversized, weighted lawn missiles with sharpened steel tips, what could possibly go wrong? My family actually had these when I was a kid, they were fun and terrifying at the same time. Between these, my dad smoking in a closed car, no seatbelts and pop rocks and Coke, it's amazing we made it out of the 70's alive. Thanks for the nostalgia JT!

Callisto

This is one of those "wait, that's LEGO?" MOCs. One that's so unusual and slick that you pass right over it in Flickr, and one so beautifully sculpted it defies logic. This is the Callisto from Legohaulic, and it's absolutely gorgeous.
