More Than Meets The Eye
/Your mileage on the Bayformer movies may vary, but this Bumblebee moc by Jonas is a great, faithful recreation of the character in brick.

Mad Physicist is back with something pretty epic, a fully transforming Optimus Prime on a scale I don't think I've ever seen before. It's got all the detail and creative touches you'd expect from Ralph, and when he showed some WIP pics I really thought it was just going to be a huge truck model. Then I check my Flickr feed this morning and see it fully transforms...stunning.
I'm not a fan of Transformers, especially the Baybominations. But there are a handful of really cool designs in those cinematic crimes. One of those is Crowbar. And now newcomer jake_tp has crafted him in LEGO, and the results are jaw dropping. Seriously, click through and scroll around on the large pictures, this thing's amazing.
Thanks for the head's up Pete
Our old buddy Moko has come up with a pair of killer Gen 1 chibi-formers: Megatron and Optimus Prime. And better yet, they actually transform! Wonderful details and poseability on each of these characters, plus a variety of weapons, just like the 80's action figures. I know because I still have mine. Awesome stuff, Dude!
While I'm not the biggest Transformers fan, and certainly not a Michael Bay fan, this MOC really caught my eye. It takes some serious building chops to get this much form and detail into such a small package. I never thought I'd see a MOC of the movie Optimus Prime at this scale, but here he is, and he's pretty awesome.
As I always do I must disclose that I'm not a huge Transformers fan. It came along just a bit late for my childhood and the movies are just dumb. But I totally appreciate some awesome building, and this super deformed Optimus Prime from MacLane fits the bill. Now if someone could super deform Shia LaBeouf...
Holy mashup! To celebrate the 30th anniversary of Ghostbusters, as well as the upcoming national Ghostbusters day (no really, it's Aug 28) builder ninbendo has created a transforming Ecto-1. This is some seriously ingenious engineering. In it's car mode, it is hardly detectable that there's anything different than the standard model. The giant ghost trap and PKE meter is pretty awesome too.
Julius von Brunk is back with another stellar Nintendo Transformers mashup. This time it's the venerable Gameboy Advance transforming into Vantage. I have no idea if Vantage is a real Transformer, but I vividly remember by Gameboy Advance. In fact, I modified mine with a front light so it was even more awesome.
What has less than 50 pieces, transforms and is adorable? These guys. M<0><0>DSWIM decided to take a break from bigger MOCs and do a little micro building, and these are the results. These could be an entire series of cool little polybags, if only LEGO had this license.
I was born just slightly too early to truly appreciate Transformers. They gained maximum popularity just as I was becoming more interested in filmmaking and girls than cartoons and toys. But I can truly appreciate great MOCs, and these from MacLane are just that, great.
I have a nerd confession to make, I don't give a rat's LaBeouf about Transformers. I was just a little too old when they hit popularity to care as a kid, and like most of Michael Bay's movies, his movie adaptations did nothing for me (I like to watch films, not be assaulted by them). I do however really like this MOC. Even if it wasn't based on a cool cartoon and toy line, it would be awesome.
I'm a Nintendo nerd, you all know that. So I'm having a hard time keeping my composure here at Starbucks (to avoid spooking the old ladies again). I'm sure all the caffeine isn't helping. This collections of MOCs just blew my mind. Not only is it a pretty spiffy MOC of a N64, controller and carts, but they TRANSFORM! Holy crap!
