Fashionable Steam

This gentleman and lady are all ready for an elegant night out. And they'll arrive in style and expedience with this lovely steam powered automobile by Moko. It's not just the latest technology, it's fashionable with it's deep forrest green paint, gold and silver plated details, and smart spoked rims. They'll be the talk of the town tonight for sure. And if they aren't the talk of the town it's probably because everyone was distracted by the huge bipedal steam powered walker.

Black Coupe Hotrod

This is a seriously sweet hotrod from builder sm 01. The design is pretty classic model-T, with lots of flair, like the checkerboard firewall and detailed engine. But what's not immediately evident is the working door handles, adjustable rear suspension, mechanized engine and retractable license plate. Oh, and did I mention it's remote controlled too? Check out the video for all the working action.

Matter Of Life And Death

Builders LinoM and rabidnovaracer have teamed up for March's LUGnuts challenge "Matter of life and death" to bring us two vehicles two vehicles designed for a critical moment in life, namely the potential end of it. Should disaster strike you might find yourself in the Flatline Ford, racing to the hospital. But if things shouldn't go too well you might end up in the Hells Bells Hearse. Either way you're traveling in style.

"Cheap Sunglasses"

This gorgeous custom by timhenderson73 looks right out of a ZZ Top music video (as it's nickname suggests), or better yet a super hero movie. It's what happens when automotive design and whimsical but stylish fabrication meet, and it's absolutely beautiful. I'm not the type to dream about one day owning a supercar, or even a luxury car for that matter, but I can see myself cruising in this baby.

Super Speedway

That's right race fans, this is how you display cars! Builder Brick Knight brings us the Super Speedway, and it's a seriously detailed and huge MOC. There's something for everyone here, including some super hero and celebrity cameos, race action, crash action and of course lots of snacks. Do yourself a favor and click through for tons more pics of this terrific MOC.

American Graffiti

You may not know this Star Wars fans, but you owe a debt of gratitude to this yellow hotrod. Prior to Star Wars getting greenlit the executives at Universal were scratching their heads at a little film from a young filmmaker named George Lucas. They didn't get it, and in fact almost shelved it, but when they finally released the film it was a smash hit. It had humor, it had poignancy, it had music and it had cars...We loved it. Based on it's success George was able to finally convince 20th Century Fox to give Star Wars a shot. The rest, as they say, is history. This updated version of John Milner's hotrod by Tiler makes me smell gas and hear Wolfman Jack.

Dale's RV

I'm probably going to get email for this, but I've never seen The Walking Dead. I've seen some scenes, and it's been on in the background while I was doing stuff. But I don't watch the show (I can hear you typing already). But I've seen pictures of this RV and this version by Mad Physicist is spot on. Of course, it's not really customized in the show, it's just a classic Winnebago Chieftain, but the level of detail and the care taken to  match it perfectly makes this a suburb MOC.

RetroRod

This sweet hotrod by Tiler just showed up in my Flickr feed as I was considering being done blogging for now, so much for that. It doesn't even have a name on Flickr, so I'm calling it RetroRod. Something about the whilewall tires (how the heck did he do that?) and the copper/black color scheme feels nostalgic, but the rest of it just screams "eat my dust".

The Afterburner

This month's LUGnuts challenge has certainly been eventful. It's not hard to imagine why since it's the 100th (!) and they're doing it up right. Builder Moritz drew "fire engine" and as you can see, he ran with it. Inspired by FDNY's iconic lime green engines, this beast looks as capable as starting as many fires as it puts out, but it would certainly be awesome to see in action.

Purple People Eater

This gnarly beast from builder tiler reminds me of a Hotwheel I had as a kid. Not having collected Hotwheels since I was 7 or so means I have not thought if it in four decades. But for some reason, as soon as I saw this MOC it all came flooding back. The track clamped to my dresser, the loop only specific cars could actually make, and the one that looked an awful lot like this purple monster. That one not only made the loop, but could clear the jump at the end too. Vroooom!

Beauty On A Beauty

There's been a long time and somewhat baffling fascination with combining the photography of cars with women. I sort of understand it at a "primal man level" (lowers brow, grunts, shiny car, pretty girl). But in the end the practice does neither subject justice if for no other reason than size discrepancy. Back far enough to see the car, can't see the girl, and vice versa. None of this applies to brick-built silhousaics though, like this latest masterpiece by Bricks Noir.

Testarossa 512 RT

Different things are done differently around the world, and different nations all have that thing they're known to be the best at. All the best electronics come from Japan, the best food comes from France, nobody pours a pint like the Brits and here in America it's bacon bowls, snuggies and guns. And if you want to talk cars, you better talk about Italy, because nobody does it sexier. Take for instance the Testarossa, like this beauty by Firas Abu-Jaber, it's practically pornographic.

Frankenstein

Hotwheels, Classic monsters, and LEGO, it's a match made in heaven. This latest wheeled offering from Lino M makes my heart go pitter patter. I spent many a happy hour as a child playing with my Hotwheels, and I was a fan of Universal's classic monsters. Combine those with Lino's top-notch building skills, and you have this awesome hot rod MOC.

Tow Rod

Sure you've seen hot rods before, maybe even some unusual ones. We've seen a popcorn truck, a beer truck, even the Munsters hot rods, but have you ever seen a tow truck hot rod? Well now you have, thanks to the mad skills of Norton74. This thing looks capable of not only leaving the competition in the dust, but he can tow them back to the starting line after winning.

Dark Omen

Behold LinoM's spectacular submission for LUGnuts' 8th birthday challenge. With a lowered stance, sideways hood, chopped roof and slotted fenders it's got an aggressive hotrod look. But that color scheme and inclusion of the guitar definitely gives this thing a more dark overtone. This looks like a ride The Master from Manos Hands of Fate would roll in (you'll probably have to look that one up, you're welcome).
