R2-D2 Bus

During my time in London I took a lot of busses. And while I have a soft spot for the venerable Routemaster, I would have been riding this bus all the time if it existed. It's the R2-D2 bus, a Star Wars reimagining by builder lucbyard. I have to assume that the football hooligans that inevitable congregate on the upper level late at night can be easily ejected like Luke's Lightsaber.

Medical Frigate

I've always loved the Nebulon-B, from the first moment I saw it on screen in the Empire Strikes Back I was intrigued. It was designed by my dear old friend Nilo Rodis, inspired by an outboard motor. The description for this MOC says that it's "original creation by dranac modifications and photo by one case". I will say they make a hell of a team, because this is an outstanding model and presentation.

Grand Army of the Republic's Gunship

Rogue Bantha is coming in for a landing with his new midiscale model of a Low Altitude Assault Transport (or gunship). What is there to say about this build? It's absolutely fantastic, nailing every single detail of these iconic Star Wars transports. The shaping? Ace. Texturing? Perfect. Having a fleet of this particular creation would be incredible to see. I guess we will have to wait to see the builder's next midiscale model!

Nathaniel Stoner

My name is Nathaniel Stoner, and I am an very active LEGO builder.  I mostly build in the themes of castle and science-fiction, but I also dabble in other genres and create occasional random MOC's (My Own Creations).

When I was younger, I would get and build small LEGO sets for my birthday, but I was never really into them.  When they fell apart, I would become frustrated attempting to put them back together and would throw them in a box in my closet.  I couldn't stand them!

Then, miraculously, I became addicted to the LEGO brick later in my teen years.  Ever since, I have continued to build up (pun intended) my collection of bricks and to expand my knowledge of techniques and building skills.  LEGO is truly more than a toy, its an art form and a way to express yourself.

For the most part, I collect LEGO Star Wars (mainly the minifigs), which is probably my favorite LEGO theme.  I have a fairly decent collection, including some of the original 1999 sets, such as the Snowspeeder, X-Wing, and Naboo starfighter.  I also collected LEGO the Lord of the Rings when those sets first came out.  The minifigs are great, and the story remains one of my favorites ever.

My hope is to inspire other young (and perhaps even older) LEGO builders to unleash their inner creativity!  You can find me on my Flikr here

Adding Lights And Sound To The UCS Falcon

What could possibly be better than the LEGO Star Wars UCS Millennium Falcon? The LEGO Star Wars UCS Millennium Falcon with lights and sound! We installed the Brickstuff premium kit in ours and it's absolutely amazing. The kit includes 109 LEDs, 2 speakers and sound modules, more than 75 genuine LEGO parts and a remote control.

Ryder's U-Wing

Master Star Wars vehicle builder Inthert took a U-Wing and broke it. ...Not really. Creating partially damaged iconic Star Wars ships and vehicles make them look like something new all together is something I really like to see often. This more rustic, cargo-carrying U-Wing design fits in this category perfectly, and is unique on its own with its exposed parts. Still recognizable as a U-Wing, but also looking like something new on its own, this ship is a fine addition to any modified Star Wars vehicles collection.

Your Snoke Theory Sucked

Umm, spoiler alert? Yeah, Snoke was wrapped in mystery until last December, now he's still mysterious, but decidedly unwrapped. After months and months of speculation from the fan community, the new ultimate baddie in the Star Wars universe was unceremoniously dispatched in The Last Jedi, as brilliantly recreated in Brickheadz form here by the great Ochre Jelly. So much for him huh?

Happy Star Wars Day, kids!

Utini!

I've always loved Jawas, especially the plastic cape one I had as a kid, and gave away to the kid down the street, along with the rest of my collection, and a Death Star play set (12 year old me was a frickin' idiot). Builder sadovich7.9 has captured the best Jawa in LEGO I've ever seen, thanks to the diligent use of five Obi-Wan capes and what had to be a load of patience.

TIE Advanced Prototype

Our pals at the LEGO Car Blog accurately predicted my reaction to this outstanding rendition of Darth Vader's iconic ship from builder Jerac. There's so many cool details and accurate styling on it I don't know where to start, I'll just point enthusiastically at the screen and make "ohh ohh" sounds, ok? Fun Fact: While it's a romantic notion to think this was Darth Vader's ship because he's a super baddie and needed an equally badass ship, the design has a much more practical origin, namely to be able to tell who's who during the battle of Yavin.

Dewback Patrol

I know it's not a huge stretch of the imagination, but I watched (listened to?) Star Wars A New Hope just yesterday afternoon. While I'm not a huge fan of the "enhancements" (please Disney, release the original theatrical cut on Blu-Ray!) I do always have to look up from what I'm doing and watch the stormtroopers in the desert. So this latest offering from LEGO 7 pleases me to no end, just look at that noble beast!

AstroMECH

Things might have gone differently in so many situations if R2-D2 had his own mech like this one from M<0><0>DSWIM. Tuskin Raiders? No Problem. Fell in a swamp? No problem. Stormtroopers? No Problem. Battle of Yavin? Ok, fitting him in the back of an X-Wing might have been a small problem, but I'm guessing this baby has flight capabilities, so no problem!

Epic Super Star Destroyer

I still remember that sense of awe that I felt during my first viewing of The Empire Strikes Back when the Super Star Destroyer was revealed. We all knew the colossal scale of the Star Destroyer, and when they showed a fleet them all being dwarfed, first by shadow, then by the ship, my jaw dropped. This was a ship of immense scale, and this build by Fabrice Neaud is pretty immense in it's own right.

Yub Nub

Ah Ewoks, those cuddly little teddy bears that overthrew an empire (or at least helped). Love them or hate them, you have to admit they're better than gungans. Builder LEGO 7 likes them, and I don't mind them, and I really don't mind this pretty spiffy little MOC featuring them. And before you start complaining that they're just cute little fuzzy critters, I'll remind you they fully intended to EAT Han and Luke, think about that.

Jedi Master

It took a lot of guts to use a puppet to represent a powerful Jedi master and mentor in the sequel to the most popular movie of all time. But bringing together the talents of Stuart Freeborn and Frank Oz made it work, and the gamble paid off. Now master Yoda is part of our lives, recognized around the world, represented in all forms of art including LEGO sculpture, like this stellar example by builder Felix Jaensch.
