Imperial March has arrived! Are you ready to rebuild the galaxy where epic stories are told about the Star Wars of old? Jump to hyperspace with us and embrace your inner dark side to build your way into history.

We are challenging you to bring to life your most iconic Star Wars creations. Imperial March is your battlefield to showcase epic scenes, legendary ships, and unforgettable characters. This is your excuse to go all in and build something so impressive it would make even Vader nod slightly in approval.

Imperial March was coined by Boone Langston in 2021 based on John William’s epic Star Wars score, and now BrickNerd is bringing the contest back complete with epic prizes! Boone will also be a guest judge to help choose who will reign supreme.

Three Epic Categories

There are three categories, each with some awesome LEGO Star Wars prizes for 1st and 2nd place. And one builder who enters all three categories will win even more and the title of Grand MOC Builder! Choose the category that fuels your inner Sith Lord or Rebel hero—or enter all three if the Force is strong with you.

Here are your categories:

1. LEgendary Characters and Creatures

Bring to life an iconic Star Wars character or creature—a hero, villain, or someone in between! Droids, space whales, and bounty hunters are all fair game. It should be brick-built and hopefully in a way we have never seen before, so constraction, mosaics, busts, chibi versions and art versions are all on the table. It just has to make us look twice and be unmistakably Star Wars.

2. EPIC Ships and Vehicles

Create an awesome ship or vehicle from the Star Wars saga! It could be from the movies, TV shows, comics or expanded universe. From TIE Fighters to Podracers, AT-ATs to speeder bikes, the galaxy is full of legendary modes of transportation waiting to be built in new and creative ways. Whether you go microscale, minifig-scale, or UCS-worthy, we want to see the best hunks of junk in the galaxy.

3. Rebuild the Galaxy Scene

Recreate a legendary Star Wars moment with your own twist. We want to see iconic scenes but reimagined in a creative way. Whether it’s a climactic space battle with Ewok X-wings, a Sith practicing levitating rocks, or Jabba the Hutt as a full-blown Jedi, we want to see your unique take on the galaxy. Scenes can be humorous or serious, but it has to be inspired by a Star Wars moment with a twist.

Become the Grand MOC Builder!

One person who enters all three categories will be crowned the Imperial March Grand MOC Builder and win 75389 The Dark Falcon, the coveted Golden Nerdly Trophy and a BrickNerd swag box! Talk about ruling the galaxy!

You could even win a category AND the Grand MOC Builder title! Your fate is in your hands.

But wait, there’s more! To celebrate all things Star Wars and the many people who enter our contests, we will randomly draw an entry that is submitted before Monday, March 24th to receive a giveaway! The winner will receive 75372 Clone Trooper & Battle Droid Battle Pack for all their army-building needs.

An Imposing Deadline

You have until the end of March to build and post your creations. We are collecting entries via this Google form. The form will help us track entries and give proper credit for linking, but make sure to also post it on Flickr in our Imperial March 2025 group and on Instagram tagging @bricknerdofficial using the hashtags #ImperialMarch25 and #BrickNerd.

So channel the Force and sharpen those lightsabers because the battle has begun!

Imperial March Official Rules

All entries must be new creations built since the announcement of the contest and not based on any existing builds, instructions, or sets. Entries may be updated as long as the contest is still open.
The contest will be judged by BrickNerd contributors and Boone Langston who will evaluate entries based on concept, quality, and presentation.
Your entry should be submitted via Google form and posted in the Imperial March Flickr group or on Instagram, tagging and mentioning @BrickNerd/@BrickNerdOfficial, stating the category you are entering, and adding the hashtags #ImperialMarch25 and #BrickNerd. If you do not indicate a category, one will be chosen for you.
If you don’t have either Flickr or Instagram or if you do not have a Google account, please email your submission to dave@bricknerd.com.
The contest ends on March 31st, 2025 at 11:59 pm PST (7:59 am GMT on April 1st for the Europeans). Winners will be announced a few weeks later.
You may enter as many times as you want with unique creations. A single builder can win multiple prizes. However, we caution you against spamming multiple builds unrelated to the contest.
Digital renders are allowed, though the creation must be structurally sound and all the pieces must be available physically. Custom minifigures, stickers, and prints are allowed in Imperial March, though they should not be the sole focus of your entry.
These rules and prizes may be modified at any point, and prizes may be substituted for comparable items depending on the winner’s location and local currency.
