LEGO Community Headlines and Highlights for November 2025

November brought no shortage of great LEGO content from around the globe! Here at BrickNerd, we started the month by announcing our annual Nerdvember contest, looked at building convincing characters, built some custom screen models for the Nintendo Game Boy,

We looked at customization of the impressive new aquarium, took a look at some classic LEGO minifigures due for a comeback, looked at what went into creating a fleet of American Airlines models, and heard from a talented Japanesse LEGO artist whose creations have taken him all the way to the LEGO House masterpiece gallery! We also took a look at the undeniably adorable space babies, provided instructions to build a miniature Vic Viper, then went to the other end of the size spectrum and saw what went into building a massive space station. We discovered a castle worthy of the Wizard and Emerald City, took a look at whether 3D printing is the answer to your LEGO storage dilemmas, evaluated LEGO holiday trains.

In fact, we’ve published so many interesting articles in November that we’ve included an interactive calendar of them at the bottom of this post, so you can make sure you haven’t missed a thing. But there are many more fascinating stories to be told from within the LEGO community, so here are some of the best LEGO articles and videos that caught our contributors’ attention throughout the month of November. We applaud the effort that went into each of these features, so click on the headlines or photos to head to each story or video. They are well worth your time!

ABrickDreamer: This Week in Bricks

What can I say, other than you need to subscribe to this channel. You may see some of the MOCs via other resources (TBB, BrickNerd, etc.), but there is always a great compilation of wonderful MOCs.

Brickcrafts: Building a LEGO City in 2.5 Hours

If you enjoy long timelapses or need some LEGO-themed ASMR, this video chronicles the multi-year process of building a full LEGO city from an empty table to rolling hills, a working airport, and even an erupting volcano.

Brickset: The Gift-With-Purchase Conundrum

Gift-with-purchase promos have grown from small add-ons into frequent, boxed sets, creating confusion about which items feel like true bonuses versus essential companions to major releases. The article highlights how recent examples (including large builds tied closely to main sets) have intensified concerns about value, timing, and how LEGO frames these offers.

Ben Cossey: The History of The Rare LEGO McDonald’s Set

What was the relationship between LEGO and McDonald’s like, and how did this odd set come to be? This one is an odd tale, and was only available in a certain part of the world…

Beyond the Brick: Massive Black Sea Barracuda Pirate Ship

Josh takes a detailed look at this at this 6X recreation of this classic pirate ship. All of the upscaled elements were built ahead of time, then the set was assembled at Brick Slopes 2025. I hope they had an oversized brick separator for the end of the convention!

This video races through many tricks, starting with simple stability tips and moving into advanced techniques like hinges made with stickers, SNOT tricks and clever NPU that can elevate almost any MOC. It’s a rapid-fire showcase of ideas and experiments that may or may not be useful!

Brick Sculpt: This Might Be the Coolest LEGO Tool Ever!

This is an unsponsored product review of a potentially useful new tool for MOC builders. Hopefully the title and screen shot aren’t too much of a spoiler for you.

Jay’s Brick Blog: BrickLink Suspends Marketplace Operations in 35 Countries

BrickLink’s decision to suspend operations in 35 countries sent shockwaves through AFOL communities, especially since the only explanation was “limited resources,” prompting speculation about taxation, compliance, and the complexity of managing so many individual regions. The sudden loss of access has frustrated both buyers and sellers, and many are hoping parts of the service can eventually be restored.

LEGOSpencer: A Machine to Sort LEGO

Sorting LEGO is a chore we all must deal with. Some people despise sorting, while others find it therapeutic. This video shows one of the more recent attempts to create a machine to handle the task. While admittedly having some room for improvement, it will be interesting to see what capabilities version 2.0 is able to implement.

Matt Denton: XXXL 3D Printed LEGO Dune Buggy

Here’s another 3D printed passion project with a drivable version of a childhood favorite LEGO set. It’s interesting to watch the proliferation of 3D printed upscaled LEGO elements. Will the trend die out or continue to grow as 3D printers become more commonplace?

MitchBuilds: How to Build a Balrog

How can you bring the iconic Balrog from fantasy lore to life in LEGO? With a dramatic scale, questionable connections and fiery parts, of course!

Nate From the Internet: A 3D Printed LEGO-Style Castle, Bigger than Ever!

You might catch a glimpse of BrickNerd in this update that really raises the stakes on this massive project. The castle walls are almost complete!

Nickbild: Banamera AI Image Editing

We’re always a little hesitant to bring up the subject of AI. We’ve all seen some horrendous AI depictions of “LEGO” images. But this time is a little different. I can see a place in the community for this AI image editing capability. While not unique to LEGO applications, in this instance Minifigures are used to illustrate the process.

PenPlays: Are LEGO Minidolls Actually Better Than Minifigures?

The debate of whether LEGO minidolls can outshine classic minifigures is explored in this video. It’s a fun and thoughtful look for builders who’ve ever wondered whether to mix minidolls into their collection.

Take a tour through Skærbæk Fan Weekend 2025, where international AFOLs brought everything from sweeping dioramas and character builds to mechs, spaceships, modular towns, and designer-driven collaborations. The recap celebrates the weekend’s sheer variety and scale, underscoring why Skærbæk remains one of the community’s most anticipated global meetups.

The Brothers Brick: LEGO x F1 Academy: Thoughts on Brand Tie-ins

While classic LEGO themes such as City and Creator continue to be product staples, there is no denying that cobranding continues to be a growing trend. TBB takes an editorial look at this phenomenon and offers some thoughts on the future.

This feature reflects on how NoVVember grew from a tribute to nnenn into a monthlong tradition that brings builders together through shared creativity, remembrance, and a sense of belonging. It highlights how newcomers and veterans alike find meaning in reinventing the Vic Viper each year, turning the challenge into a celebration of both craft and community.

Tips&Bricks: SNOT Basics

We at BrickNerd love us some SNOT! This time, Tips&Bricks walks new builders through the basics of SNOT (studs not on top), showing how turning studs sideways lets you add texture, shaping, and detail that standard stacking can’t match.

Tips&Bricks: Understanding SNOT

Wait, there is even more SNOT content on Tips&Bricks!? This time, they explore the math and measurements behind SNOT, looking at the ratios and proportions that make the system and elements work together so seamlessly.

Zusammengebaut: How LEGO Bricks Are Made

Step inside the LEGO factory to see how a simple brick begins life as tiny ABS pellets, melted down and blasted into precision molds before being cooled and popped out in seconds. It’s a quick tour of how LEGO is using automation to achieve the near-perfect tolerances.

If all of those amazing features weren’t enough to satisfy your LEGO community craving, here is an interactive calendar of everything that BrickNerd has published this last month to make sure you didn’t miss a single article.
