LEGO Contest Round-Up for July 2026
/Roald Dahl was once quoted that he’d remove January to have an extra July instead – and with the amount of contests and challenges that you can build for this months, he might have been on to something. There’s plenty on offer in our latest lineup of LEGO contests and challenges from across the AFOL community. There’s nothing quite like a theme or a prompt to nudge you out of your comfort zone this July 2026 and push you to experiment building in ways you might not otherwise attempt.
We’ve listed them in order of deadline so you can plan your building time wisely—especially in a month that always seems to fly by. Be sure to check the LEGO activity calendar for local challenges and events near you. Some of our fondest memories, proudest builds, coolest trophies, and strongest friendships started with a contest entry, so we hope you’ll jump in and give one (or two) a try.
With five categories and custom-built trophies to be won for each of them, you’d better be building a LEGO Star Wars creation this summer.

This fun building contest for the summer holidays asks you to build something football (soccer) related that could be a set in the LEGO City assortment.
Be it a goal, a hot dog stand, a press conference or a camera crane – it all can find a home in this fun contest that our friends at Stonewars are hosting! Pro football or beach fun, it’s all allowed, and there’s even a prize solely for kids and teens!
Deadline: July 19th
Prizes: 80121 Ancient Moon-Gazing Inn (1st place); 40921 Scaled-Up Blue Astronaut Minifigure (2nd place); 60500 LEGO Van (3rd place); children and teens will automatically be entered into a draw to win 31387 Iconic Pirate Ship

Celebrate Collectable Minifigures with #cmfhabitats26! To enter, simply build one or more 8x8 base habitat(s) featuring one of your favorite minifigures from the more than 30 CMF series that have been released over the years, tagging @habitatchallenge on your post.
Deadline: July 24th-26th (post your stack on the 27th)

This LEGO Ideas challenge is all about secrets and hidden delights. Take the jury by surprise by building something that offers something concealed or an astounding discovery! With a bit of luck, it could become a future Gift with Purchase LEGO set.

Prizes: 1 Grand Prize winner will have their submission turned into a LEGO set, along with receiving complimentary copies + three LEGO Ideas sets + a yet-to-be-revealed mystery prize; up to 14 winners will receive 10351 Sherlock Holmes Book Nook & 21362 Mineral Collection

ivybrickss is hosting a new monthly challenge and it’s all about building little guys – whatever that may be for you!

Time for Crab - Carcinisation Competition
It’s July – time to build some cool crabs! Hosted by LEGO Designers Aron Gerencsér and Maxx Davidson, this time you are asked to reimagine, rebuild and represent a specific LEGO set, a theme, or anything recognizably related to the hobby as a crustacean.
Deadline: July 31st
Prizes: All participants enter a raffle for a copy of 31385 Beautiful Dolphins signed by the designer Jared.

Umbasa LUGs monthly challenge is asking for scenes and minifigures of an adventure party made from classic LEGO parts – a fun twist on a timeless concept.

Summer is upon us, and with that the return of the fan-favorite annual Summer Joust!
There are plenty of fresh, exciting categories and returning favorites to ensure you have plenty of castle-building motivation for the next two months. So buckle on your brick separator and get to work!

The summer is a perfect time for a relaxing beach getaway, maybe with a side of hiking, volcanoes, and surfing! There's only one difference, these islands are floating – and strictly digital builds!

Prizes: New LEGO sets for 1st, 2nd, & 3rd Place in two categories (Minifigure Scale and Micro Scale).

Bio-Cup, the prime LEGO Constraction contest, is back, and this year, the format is changing. No eliminations, all that matters are your top three entries across four rounds, free for anyone to enter.
