I'm Sorry Dave...

I never considered the fact that I'm the same age as 2001: A Space Odyssey, technically I'm older by three months. Now that we're the ripe old age of 50, it's time to look back with reverence, or in my case wonder where all the time has gone (and where my hair went). Brandon Griffith is celebrating this landmark (Kubrick's classic, not my dusty butt) with this gorgeous helmet reproduction.

Wearable Ant Man Helmet

Some super heroes have no super powers, only access to very special equipment and the determination and skill to use it. A similar notion could be said of builders, we all have access to the same bricks, but only a few have the determination and skill to turn them into something super. Builder Brickatecture crafted this wearable Ant Man helmet, and while some purists might take issue with the scavenged plastic lenses and paint, everyone has to agree it's pretty super.

Wearable Empire

If Star Wars taught me one thing, it's that helmets are popular in space. And what good is a helmet that you can't wear? Well, Lego Admiral seems to think the same thing, and has crafted these excellent Vader and Stormtrooper helmets in bricks, and you can actually wear them. I don't know how much protection they would offer, then again Stormtroopers can be taken out by a teddy bear with a rock, so the real ones don't offer much either.

Space Marine Helmet

This space marine helmet by builder timofey_tkachev looks right out of a movie or video game. The sleek black design looks intimidating, and not only does it have all the right aesthetics, it's wearable too. I assume it's an original design, but it feels familiar, almost imperial. While it doesn't necessarily look Star Warsy (is that an adjective?) you can definitely feel some of the DNA in it.
