Ho Ho Huh?

Christmas is less than a week away, and Ochre Jelly is getting into the spirit (well, sorta). Meet the Humbugz, adorable lumps of unattractiveness from the north pole. In the proud tradition of REJECTZ, these are so far beyond ugly they somehow become cute again. With teeth like that I'm not sure Santa could even eat a cookie, but I can assure you everyone's getting a lump of coal.

Hermey And The Abominable Snowman

This wonderful custom set of figures won Best Custom at Brickslopes last weekend, an event I was fortunate enough to attend. I know we don't cover much custom figures here on BrickNerd (I don't know why, should we?) but this pair is from something so dear to me, the animated classic Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. We watched this every year as kids, it was a hallmark of the season. These figures are so clean and well done they look practically factory made, nice work Done Rite.

OK, here's the pitch: We reboot Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, but we set it on Hoth. A small astromech is mocked and outcast by the other astromechs for his shiny dome. He befriends a young Luke Skywalker wants to become a dentist (here depicted in a Brick Sketch by Powerpig) and they set out on an adventure. There they meet a cantankerous prospector, Han Solo, and flee from the abominable wampa...

*Sniff Sniff Sniff*...*Lick Lick Lick*...Nothing

This is my favorite character from all the Rankin & Bass Christmas classics, Yukon Cornelius, the greatest prospector in the north. When he throws his pick in the air and sniffs and licks it, it never fails to crack me up. Yet another brilliant Brick Sketch from Chris McVeigh.

Who Could Call Him Names?
