Instructions to Build Three Savannah Animals

For each issue of BrickJournal Magazine, the BrickNerd team creates instructions for a LEGO mini-model to go with the theme of the cover story. For their recent issue featuring animals, we decided to share three mini-models—all built by BrickNerd contributor and talented builder Miro Dudas (aka Humble Bricks)!

Say Hello to the BrickPals

Let’s go on a safari! In honor of the animal kingdom, I designed three iconic animals from Africa: a lion, giraffe and rhinoceros.

I picked these three animals because I loved watching them at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park, where I took my family for many years. I loved seeing them move so gracefully, yet still embody so much character.

That’s why I made BrickPals. I wanted to capture these animals in a LEGO form so small that even a child could hold them in the palm of their hand. I tried to imbue them with as much character as possible so they could be a desk or nightstand buddy.

Lion

Here are the step-by-step instructions for the Lion that you can scroll through to build it.

Giraffe

Next up are the instructions for this adorable giraffe. Toys R Us would be so proud!

Rhino

Last up are the instructions for this rocking rhino.

Their heads can be posed so they can tilt their heads or even look back at you, bringing them that much more to life. This was a fun collection to design – I hope you enjoy building them!

You can download a pdf of the instructions and full part list that BrickJournal published here. You can also purchase a copy of the entire current issue here. And until next time, stay nerdy about the bricks!
