Orbscure

This is one beefy, stocky mech. I would love to see this thing clomping through a darkly lit, steamy corridor. I dig the color scheme, it's almost steampunk with the copper highlights and shaping. But with this stance, it's clearly not cog-driven.

Corner Hardware Store

When I was a kid hardware stores were like this. Small, family owned and fun. We had a couple in my town and they were always fascinating to visit. Those days are gone for the most part, with small hardware stores replaced by the likes of Home Depot. I just can't imagine wandering aimlessly through this little shop looking for an anchor bolt and not being able to find a soul to help me.

Math Is Easier With Visual Aids

Take for instance young Joker here. He's about to illustrate the principals of fractions in one simple stroke...of a cleaver. You could provide the answer with "1/2" or with ".5", either way, you have two halves of a whole kitten. You're a sick man Stuart (awesomely sick man)

Chip 'N' Dale

The only thing more surprising than the quality of this build is that I found it on Brickshelf. This charming MOC comes to us from m-and-m (or is that M&M?), the same builder as the nifty Alice In Wonderland featured not too long ago. Obviously I need visit Brickshelf more often (but sorry kids, it's dying a slow death).

Welcome To The Scare...Make That Laugh Floor

Monsters Inc. showed us all that laughter is more powerful than fear. Dave Shaddix showed us that he's got the mad skills. Although technically, this entire MOC would be considered a 2319, I'm sure Roz would make an exception.

Mr. Worm Is Packing

I loved the game Worms. Many don't remember it, but if you enjoy Angry Birds, you owe some gratitude to Worms. This is described as a "quick, 30 minute build" but it goes to show that with great skill and inspiration, time is not really a factor. Nice work Nick.

Manaor Castle

This castle by Soccersnyderi would be eye catching and charming enough on it's own, but the fact that it hinges open puts it over the top for me. I love the use of different colors and textures in the walls to break it up. I assume the mixing of old and new grays in intentional, unlike when I do it (stupid colorblindness).

Xire - Urban Patrol Mech

We can only hope in the future the mechs and other robotic conveyances have a sense of style and color as sweet as this offering from David Steeves. I really like the use of yellow, there's just enough to trim, but not so much it's overdone.

Jack, The Pumpkin King

He's a master of fright, and a demon of light. And he'll scare you right out of you pants. He's Jack Skellington, and he's wonderful. Carl Merriam finally dusted him off (or not) and took a photo of him so we can all enjoy. I love the bat wings for coat tails, and the head is great.

OK, what are the odds that two amazing carbon freeze chambers from The Empire Strikes Back would show up in two days? I know there's a contest going on, but is one of the categories "build a carbon freeze chamber"? I can't read German so I'm not sure what's going on, but as long as these cool MOCs keep coming I don't care. I do care about the photography though, stop shooting MOCs with iPhones.

Gothic Lolita

I'm immediately reminded of Winona Rider's character in Beetlejuice when I see this, but I know it's not her. This is the fashion mashup Gothic Lolita, made popular in Japan in the late 90's. It's sort of goth, with a hint of anime and good helping of Victorian. It's a little baffling, but since when do teenage fashion trends make any sense? 

"What If He Doesn't Survive?"

This carbon freezing chamber from KW Vaubon looks awesome. It reminds me of a Kenner playset from the 80's. If only LEGO had produced an Ugnaught this facility could be fully staffed. I would love to see this lit and photographed like the movie. It would take some patience, and a fog machine, but it would be amazing.

AW3 Kolibri VTOL

There's just something so fascinating about a vertical take-off and landing vehicle. Like it's real-world counterpart the Osprey, this little ship can utilize landing zones inaccessible by it's fixed-wing brothers. I like the angles on this, as well as the engine nacelles. It's a simple model, but strikes a good balance between utility and fantasy.

Chess Anyone?

I would be remiss in my geek responsibilities were I not to post this (it's sort of required). The picture could be better, but I'm sure Mr Spock would find this MOC as irresistible as I do. I'm inspired to build a full size version with the pieces, but I have no time, so I'll leave it to you readers.

It's A Boy!

I was absolutely, positively certain my buddy Iain Heath had something waiting in the wings ready for a certain royal birth, and I was right. Behold, the bouncing baby boy and heir to the throne (oh, and nifty MOC).

The Great Hall Of Rothburg

There is nothing quite so satisfying after the conquering of another neighboring geographic area than a banquet of turkey, fish, baked goods and... shark?  But it's clear that game takes on a new meaning here in Rothburg, judging by the yeti head mounted on the wall.

Mmmmmm, Popcorn

When I was a kid I had a Great American Popcorn Machine. I also had a fascination for show rods. This makes me reminisce about both. Lino Martins has done it again, dropping my jaw and making me smile with his mad car building skills. Anyone else smell hot butter?

P-51 Mustang

If you've ever heard one of these planes (or a squadron) you know what an amazing sound they make. I can only imagine what it have been like to be on the opposite side when these guys appeared in the sky. This MOC is so nice you'd swear it's an official model. In fact, this thing needs to be on Cuusoo, it's got my support.

G9-K7 Will Kill You

But in his defense, it's his job. You can't have a robot with the designation "Killing Machine" and have it filling Twinkies or trimming toe nails. I love the chest on this robot, I've never seen this combination of parts and it works so well. The arms have an excellent amount of articulation as well. Nice work Master Beef (with fries).
