Mordecai And Rigby
/I recognize these characters, I know I've seen them on my son's TV when I was in telling him to clean his room or something, you know, "Parental". I may have even watched for some time, scratching my head and quipping something witty (again, in a very "parental" way, probably not funny). But I can't say I know them. I can however say this is a cool MOC, and I love a good character build.
Ancient Amphitheater
/This very large and beautiful MOC of an ancient amphitheater is from Hardegon. I don't know the details of the build, there's no description, but I can only guess at how long this took to build. The stands are a little barren, apparently whatever show is running now isn't drawing much of a crowd. But I can only imagine the crowd that will surround this MOC if it ever goes on display. Click through for many more pictures.
And You Thought Your Monday Was Going Bad
/We've all had those days. You overslept, forgot the creamer in your coffee, got stuck in traffic, missed a meeting at work because you were late, got strapped to a X frame and dismembered for the enjoyment of a goblin king...OK, maybe not that last part. So your day isn't so bad now huh? At least not as bad as this poor chump in this rather macabre MOC by cmaddison.
'Twas Pretty Funny
/In just over two weeks when I put out some cookies for the big man I can only hope to have this delicious an assortment. I can also hope there's no mice in my cupboards. This MOC from True Dimensions cracked me up. Happy holidays!
Space: The Unused Frontier
/Over the past few weeks the creative powerhouses behind LEGO Space: Building The Future have been treating us to unused shots from the book. Let me point that out again, these epic and incredible shots didn't make the cut. It's a testament to the quality of this book.
Bear Guy III
/It's a little know fact, but teddybears are the secret guardians of the night. You might just think of them as cute and cuddly, but once the veil of darkness has fallen, and sleep has taken you, they are there to watch over you. OK, it's really from Gundam Build Fighters, but I'm secretly afraid of the dark.
"...In His Belly You Will Find A New Definition Of Pain And Suffering"
/I'm an original trilogy fan, everyone knows that. I do think that Jedi is the weakest of the three, but this scene was always fun. And hey, slave Leia (nuff said). markus19840420 has captured it perfectly with this large MOC.
Thatched Loveliness
/I don't know what it is about round displays, I suspect it's because they defy the "squarish" nature of LEGO, but they're always so compelling. And that's just the beginning of all the eye candy in this MOC by Derfel Cadern. I mean look at that thatched roof! And the off kilter buildings, the stonework, the details, it's all beautiful.
Guess Who's Coming To Town?
/Ooooh, so exciting! It's less than three weeks until this guy comes to town. I don't know about all of you but I've been very nice. So Santa, can you hook me up with some more filmmaking equipment so I can produce even better quality episodes for everyone? Speaking of quality, check out this build by Bricks for Brains, superb! Oh, and then there's the little workshop where he and the elves make all the toys.
Rockin' Anime
/Live on stage! If you're into synthetic Japanese singers recreated in plastic, this post is for you. I just like well done characters, and these fit the bill. I especially like the proportions of the singer, the huge sleeves juxtaposed with the tiny arms are very iconic. The posing on both of these MOCs is great as well.
Stabby McStab
/I remember being a bit fascinated by combat and survival knives in high school. I even had one with a camo grip and nifty compass on the end. I still have a very nice Buck my brother gave me that I don't camp without. It's not as cool as this Halo combat by Pink Stormtrooper though. Not so much for being a knife, but for being a knife built this nice out of LEGO. Sure you can't slice potatoes with it, but who cares?
Kaneda's Bike
/The Arvo Brothers are back and what a return it is. As though it wasn't enough to thrill us with their recreation of Kaneda's bike from the anime classic Akira, but they have more news as well. Apparently they meticulously documented the creation of this MOC and are going to release a book about it soon! With die-cut decals included no less! Until then we can just stare and drool.
A Galaxy To Build
/Chris McVeigh has updated the instructions for his Star Wars inspired ornaments. Most are PaB compatible and all are adorable. Let's face it, your tree is naked without these. You don't want a naked tree do you? Aunt Doris is coming over and the neighbors can see it through the window. Go there, get these.
My Favorite
/I am not shy about the fact that I love pumpkin pie. Not that I think it's wrong to share one's love of dessert, go right ahead. It's just been a bit difficult this holiday season to count points and get my fix. This slice by Ryan K poses no threat though, it's delicious looking and makes me smile, but has zero calories.
Meep Meep!
/Saturday mornings were awesome when I was a kid. For some reason we were able to wake up early with no ill effects (unlike school days) and it was strait to the TV with a bowl of Cheerios to watch Land of the Lost, Speed Racer and classic Warner Bros Cartoons. One of my favorites was always Road Runner, not for the the stupid bird, but for the cunning but misfortunate Wile E. Coyote. This MOC by matt rowntRee sums it all up in one visual image, nicely played.
Many thanks to The Living Brick for the head's up
