Sushi Machine

As is usually the case during an Iron Builder competition, we're going to see a bit of a glut from builders Gilcélio and Arkov. Bus as is also the case, it will be epic MOC after epic MOC as these two titans battle it out. Gilcélio is already off to the races, having built 6 entries to date. But a lull from the opponent is usually ended with a jaw dropping entry, we'll just have to wait and see.

Update: It appears that Arkov has had to forfeit this round due to personal reasons. We know he'll be back and send him best wishes as he deals with the matters at hand.

Emerald Star...In Glorious 3D!

I got a kick out of this MOC. One of my jobs not related to LEGO is supervising stereoscopic (3D) aspects of movies and visual effects. Yes, I get paid to wreck my vision and make artists cry, but it's for the better good and to save your eyes (you're welcome). So to see a really well composed 3D picture of a MOC is quite a treat. Nerdvember Is Nigh

This is, this is the last day, if you aren't entered or already building you should feel an unusual pressure in your gut, and perhaps a not entirely unpleasant burning sensation (I won't say where). Nerdvember ends tonight at 11:59 pm PST. Go go go!

EP7 Stormtrooper FTW

During the Creations for Charity live stream, builder Iain Heath slammed out this awesome space guy from some trailer from some movie, Star Trek maybe? I dunno. But it turned out pretty good.

Mmmmm, Sardines

That title is a lie, I can't stand sardines. But I love a good build, and this sardine lunch by builder Gilcelio chagas. There's so many cool things here I don't know where to start. Of course the peeling back of the lid is genius, and the sardines with mixels eyes are perfect. But strangely I'm drawn to the most mundane item, the salt and pepper shaker.

Nerdvember Is Almost Over!

There have been SO many amazing entries this Nerdvember, I don't envy the judges trying to pick the top three. Speaking of three, you only have three days left to get your reimagined Nerdly MOC done and entered, get building! 

Mechanical Bug

Do you suppose less people would be creeped out by bugs if they were steam powered and had adorable little gears and complex mechanisms inside them? One can only suppose, but we can envision that possibility with this brilliant mechanical beetle by Dwalin Forkbeard.

Happy Thanksgiving From Tyrone

When you think of Thanksgiving you probably think of relatives taking up all the parking out front, uncle Larry polishing off the brandy and what the heck is cranberry sauce anyway? Oh, and maybe turkey. For instance Tyrone the turkey, who skates, moves his head, flaps his wings and gobbles thanks to his NXT gizzard!

Hey everyone! Here is my latest project, Tyrone, my second mindstorms Thanksgiving turkey. Tyrone can skate around, navigate, flap his wings, gobble, move his head, and charge at anyone who touches him. Tyrone is very realistic with some neat details such as a huge tail, specially designed head, yellow legs and feet, and a red waddle.

Paging Dr. Awesome

I do have a weakness for LEGO props. Anytime my Flickr feed fools me with a thumbnail I find it delightful. Now going to the doctor, that's a different story. But I think if he or she used this amazing LEGO equipment by Gilcélio I'd be easier to talk into making a visit

24 Hours Of Creations For Charity

Those mad men at Beyond the Brick and Creations for Charity are going to kick off the holiday shopping season by hosting a 24 hour livestream starting tomorrow, black Friday. From 5pm EST Friday to 5pm EST Saturday they are going to be live. And for every hour they are on LEGO has pledged to donate a set to Creations for Charity. I plan to join them either late Friday or early Saturday. no idea what I'll do, but you can bet it'll be fun.

Delightfully Retro

Tomorrow I will break out the Christmas carols for the first time of the year. We usually decorate for Christmas after feasting on Turkey and we'll listen to carols as we do it. Especially fun when I break out the vinyl, since I have all the records we listened to as a child. Back then they were played on a console very similar to this brilliant old school turntable by Yul Burman Karel.

Super Deformed Optimus Prime Is Super Awesome

As I always do I must disclose that I'm not a huge Transformers fan. It came along just a bit late for my childhood and the movies are just dumb. But I totally appreciate some awesome building, and this super deformed Optimus Prime from MacLane fits the bill. Now if someone could super deform Shia LaBeouf...

Spidey

When I was a kid, Spiderman was my favorite super hero (Ironman too, but there were less toys). I have fond memories of racing around the cup-de-sac with my inexplicable Spiderman motorhome with my Mego figure inside. Now nobu_tary has created one of the best MOCs of everyone's favorite web slinger I've ever seen.

Oni-ni-kabanō

I don't know what mythical creature this MOC by Stuart Delahay is inspired by. Nor can I tell you the circumstances which led to this meeting. All I can say is I'm pretty sure the odds are stacked towards the big red guy, just sayin'.

Dungeons And Mixels

You enter a small corridor, the dank smell of mildew and death burns your nostrils as you transfer the flame of your torch to the one on the wall. Abzumo

This thing looks right out of a nightmare. It takes skill to make a Bionicle based MOC look this cool, and even more to make it actually look scary. You can practically hear the roar of this sinister looking winged Makuta from builder Pate-keetongu.
