Feed Me!

I have serious mixed feelings on Little Shop of Horrors. On one hand I love Rick Moranis, Bill Murray and Steve Martin. And Audrey II is a crowning achievement in the possibilities of animatic creatures. But I have a hard time watching that movie. I think it's because my roommate tortured me with the soundtrack (that and Howard the Duck if you can believe it) for months, he loved it. But I certainly dig this MOC by Umm, Who?

Dream House

Move over Barbie, there's a new Dream House in town. I hope you're not in a hurry dear readers, because this stunning three story house by builder alanboar takes a little while to look at. A long while in fact because it's positively packed with detail and excellent building. Not only is each floor fully decked out, each has it's own decorating style. My favorite is the adventure theming in the bedroom. Click through for more pictures and visit the builder's website for more.

I don't Like Sushi

Yes, I've said it before and I'll say it again, I don't like sushi. So now you're saying "you've just never had good sushi'. I'll just stop you right there. I've fallen for that three times, and on all three occasions the person that persuaded me to fall for it again confirmed that we were indeed eating good sushi. So it is confirmed, I don't like sushi. I do however dig a really cool LEGO interior, so check out this insanely detailed sushi restaurant by Denil. Now if someone would come up with a restaurant that has other food come out on those nifty conveyors I'd happily try it.

A Study In Contrasts

I feel for the guy on the left. Over the years I've found myself at a number of jobs that were the type that just sorta suck your will to live, like this one depicted by Gzu's Bricks. The funny thing is these days, the image is almost swapped for me. Not so much the glum side, but home is pretty normal when it comes to the color palette, and work is a vibrant, cheery LEGO spectrum of color. Oh, and that goofy, happy expression? That's me both places.

It Just Isn't Fair!

So, you've just scored two new droids, just in time for the moisture harvest! Give one an oil bath and take care of that carbon scoring on the other. Get them both cleaned up and what are you going to do next? That's right, transfer your application to the academy! Wait, who's the hologram babe? Hey, my uncle's a bit of a grouch. Darn, the little one took off. Today just kinda sucks doesn't it? (spoiler: it got worse)

Time Machine

No, this one doesn't do 88 mph, nor is it disguised as a police call box. This is the 1960 George Pal and HG Wells classic time machine by BMW_Indy, and it's a beauty. The sled itself is meticulously recreated and is a wonder to behold, but the fun doesn't stop there, check out that perfectly detailed interior space. And if all that isn't enough to blow your mind, the whole vignette is lit with LEDs and the dish spins thanks to a 9-volt mini motor. This is small scale building taken to the max.

Apartment Life

I've lived in my fair share of apartments in my life. Thankfully I own a house now and don't have to deal with the downside of apartment living (but deal with a whole list of other headaches believe me). Cesbrick knows the struggle, and has crafted this excellent MOC representing the inevitable broad spectrum that stacking people leads to. Click through to see them all (totally worth it).

Stay Frosty And Alert

I was fresh out of high school and jonzin' to start a career in movies when Aliens premiered back in 1986. I can remember going to see it with a buddy and being totally blown away by it. This morning I'm blown away by this spectacular MOC by Missing Brick. The MOC itself is really impressive, but the presentation is what really caught my attention. Using a combination of LED scale lighting, under lighting, an iPad for a splash of color and an atomizer for atmosphere, this iconic scene from the movie is recreated with brilliant results.

Research And Development

Let's face it, the future isn't going to invent itself. It's going to take creative minds, deep thinkers, tinkerers and dreamers to make it happen. And no matter how far in the future you go, there's always going to be new trails to blaze, new ideas to realize and and new dreams to strive for. Basement Workshop

If you think about the vast number of basements in the world dedicated to letting people use their creative energy, it's really quite awe inspiring. Think about it, hundreds of thousands of little subterranean spaces where people make stuff, it's an awesome thought. I don't know if this excellent MOC by Miro78 was built in a basement, but it certainly has the spirit of creativity that prevails in those wonderful rooms.

Kid's Room

Feast your eyes on this extravaganza of rich detail by builder Cesbrick, but be prepared to spend some time with it. This classic kid's room interior is absolutely packed with nostalgia, clever building and irresistible charm. The use of color is also impressive here, helping distinguish all the visual layers and keeping it from turning into total chaos. It's simultaneously visually complicated and simple to look at, and that's not easy to do.

The Heart Of The Home

I don't know why it is, but in my experience the most important, the most popular and the most frequented part of the home is the kitchen. It's where we prepare meals, have a snack and spend time with friends and family. It's also where we do crafts, spend late nights on last minute science projects, and maybe enjoy some tea and biscuits while you blog about amazing LEGO creations like this stunning little kitchen from jsnyder002 (which as far as I know, was built in a kitchen)

Breakfast

Every day should start with a good breakfast, in this case for me it's starting with a phenomenal breakfast...MOC! This is one of those rare occasions (which I LOVE by the way) where I find myself looking at a pic and going "oh wait, that's LEGO too, holy crap...that's all LEGO". The level of detail, clever construction and perfect photography of this MOC by LegoJalex is simply impeccable.

When Vinyl Was King

I'm dating myself, but I remember when the only way to get music was records or those new fangled 8-tracks. In fact, I remember my very first records, they were the Star Wars soundtrack and the Story of Star Wars (still have them!) But this MOC by MinifigNick goes back even before my time, to the 50's, when vinyl was king, hair was interesting and rock 'n roll was new.

Floor Of Illusion

As "Tequila" bopped from the jukebox in the corner, Carl and Benny sat down for a delicious treat at the local diner. While slurping his chocolate shake Carl absentmindedly looked around the room. "Hey Benny, what if I told you all the gray lines on this floor were parallel?" Benny looked at the floor mostly disinterested and shrugged. "hey Carl, what if I told you while you were staring at the floor I stole your fries?"

Mothering Sunday

Here in the US we won't be celebrating moms until May, but across the pond it was yesterday and this MOC by MinifigNick sums up motherhood in typical charming fashion. Moms all over the world should appreciate this image. While we all love our moms and occasionally remember to tell them, we could probably have just picked up our stuff from time to time and sent the message just as well. This one made me and my wife laugh.
