Nom Nom

Normally, I would rather stay away from anything from the Michael Bay Transformer movies. I haven't seen them and I don't want to. Also, I normally shy away from digitally built LEGO, and normally, I'm not a huge fan of Bionicle. But today I don't care about any of that, because this robot dinosaur by Nicola Stocchi is awesome. I think one of the coolest things is how it blends Bionicle and System pieces so cohesively. There are very few builds with Bionicle in them that look this convincing. Also, when I first saw this, I thought it was a really nicely photographed physical model, and was really surprised to read that it's digital. The render for this picture is very impressive, and makes the model even more menacing. Definitely wouldn't want to meet this thing on a dark night.

Balrog

The first thing about this stunning mech by Benjamin Cheh that grabbed my attention was the pose. It's dynamic and compelling, so much so that at first I assumed it was an illustration. Then I clicked through to discover this absolutely badass and super pose-able mech. I find it difficult to judge exact scale and weight of MOCs sometimes, but judging by the beefiness of that stand, this thing is a beast.

Phantom

I am as eternally mystified by Moko as I am impressed. Usually it's because I haven't heard of the character before so it requires a little research, and since his blog posts are in Japanese I have to depend on Chrome to translate so I can sort of guess what's going on. This usually results in some unintended humor as well, this is my favorite passage today...

"Since Bionicle greed was filled some time Do not (laughs) or I can not made ecause too much detour if not soon return to the Big O production."

...anyway, check out this absolutely badass and remarkably posable figure by one of my favorite builders.

Panda Mech

If you're going to build a giant robot to pilot around and do battle, why not do it with a little panache? It doesn't have to look like all the other giant robots right? Sure Mechagodzilla looked like a giant lizard, and Mechani-Kong looked like an ape, but they were both sort of ugly. The Panda Mech by Dvd however...well it's adorable and deadly at the same time!

Mk IV Automaton

Builder 2 Much Caffeine imagines the power of steam and the first quantum clocks in The Mark IV Automaton. Can you just imagine if the early breakthroughs in electronics and computers would have coincided with the age of steam power? It would have been really impressive. Then again we still can't get a robot to reliably open a door, so things might have gotten messy.

Hero In A Brick Shell

So what do you do if you're a teenaged turtle, who happens to be mutated...oh and a ninja, when you need that additional amount of firepower? Well, build a mech of course. This is Raphael's mech by onosendai2600. He's not just big and green though, this baby comes equipped with  laser sais, predator cannons, and pizza rama oven blaster!

Humanoid Utility Robot

For some little understood reason, man is obsessed with creating humanoid robots like this one from David Steeves. I guess it's logical if you want them to live in our world, work in our factories and interact with our machines they should be like us (I'd like to see BB-8 try and run a lawn mower). And it's just common sense and courtesy that when they finally become sentient and realize what jerks we are (and consequently wipe us out) everything is already compatible with them.

Say for argument you had a neighbor that had some trees that they let get WAY out of control. And suppose you suggested to this neighbor that the trees *might* need some trimming and upkeep, only to be confronted. And perhaps those trees were also responsible for some root damage and your fence was pretty much wrecked because of them. This would be the perfect machine to handle such trees, in a way that would be both efficient and cathartic (with entertainment value for surrounding neighbors). Nice build Tromas.

Builder Thirdeye88 was kind enough to share this with the people in the Google+ Hangout after the somewhat disastrous LiveBuild yesterday. It has to be one of the most slender and tallest character MOCs I've ever seen, yet it's packed with character and stands on it's own. My favorite detail has to be the soccer control handles as upper legs, that's some inspired building.
