Deathknight

This is the intersection of Nexo Knights and Warhammer, the Deathknight by chubbybots. I think if Nexo Knights had been a little edgier like this it would have caught my imagination a little more than the theme has for me. Not that I have anything against it, it's just a little too cute. I want to see an entire army of these battling, how cool would that be?

Bustin' Ghosts, Mecha Style

I can't help but think the movie Ghostbusters would have been entirely different if the boys in gray were equipped with these babies. Builder chubbybots imagines Ghostbusting via mech, and the results are captivating. This is Ecto 4, 5 and 6, each equipped we assume with an unlicensed nuclear accelerator. Staypuft wouldn't have stood a chance against these.

New Extinction Theory

Dateline October 5th 2017
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Dr. Henry Bonedigger of the New Mexico Paleontology Society has proposed a controversial extinction theory of the late jurassic, early cretaceous period. While the leading theory is catastrophic climate change brought on by a cosmic event, a meteor or comet impact most likely, lead to the mass extinction of all the larger dinosaurs. Dr. Bonedigger theorizes the even was in fact brought on by this individual, Ty Rano, and his exceptionally large walking gun. Dr. Skip Tick of the Montana group rebukes "this is insane, to propose that a single individual could do so much damage. There were no gas stations to power that thing". Many scientists have come forward to challenge Dr. Bonedigger's theory but he remains adamant. "While I agree it was a monumental effort, I'm certain Ty and his machine did this." Dr. Bonedigger's theory will be published in the next issue of Paleoworld. He is currently on a north American speaking tour.

Iron Gigas

The first word that springs to mind when I look at this stout mech by builder Moko is "beefy". Just look at this thing, that's some seriously armored, bipedal firepower right there. I also really like the action shot of the pilot ascending or descending, with a simple rope and winch, very practical. But I especially love the half stripped down shot, showing that this thing is just as badass under the armor.

Saberkitty

The most efficient form of planetary vehicle is by far a wheeled transport...it's also the most boring. And let's face it, Unikitty is anything but boring, so of course she has opted for a four legged, saber toothed walking mech. Obviously it's equipped with state of the art communications and weapons, but if I know Unikitty, it's also got a pretty slammin' sound system too. Nice build thenewpoon.

Coyote Tango

I remember when I was discovering that I was not alone in my adult LEGO fandom one of the first creations that sorta blew my mind was an elaborate mech. I'm sure if I want back and found that exact model it would be pretty tame by today's standards, but it was still my first "wait, that's LEGO?" moment. I'm sure if I had seen this stunning mech by LEGO 7 I would have just kept scrolling, because it wouldn't have even registered as brick built from a thumbnail.

Hangar #5

Of course when you have a huge mech you're going to need an even huger hanger to maintain it. Last week we featured Benjamin Cheh's awesome Palawan mech, well here's the jaw-dropping space where it stays in top shape. It features 4 Mechanical arms (2 attached to the walls and 2 on the beam), LTV Formica (Light Transport Vehicle) 2 GP containers, articulating boom lifts, 4 walkways, 4 LED lights, rack of missiles and a walkway platform with 2 hidden robotic arms for minor repairs.

Tekbalang

The source of inspiration for a MOC can vary wildly. It can be from a favorite movie, a childhood memory, a cherished aspect of life or just your imagination. Sometimes it's as simple as seeing something and thinking "I can build that". That's the spark of inspiration that led to this outstanding mech from LEGO's own Lee Magpili. He saw an illustration by the very talented Ian Sta. Maria and thought just that, and the results speak for themselves.

The Slowest Mech

This thing better pack a punch in the weapons department, because it's not going to surprise an enemy with a speedy attack. It's a snail mech, from builder ToyForce 120. I like to imagine a battle where a whole slew of mechanical species engage, and while the battle rages these guys slowly make their way in. And just when it seems the battle is lost, quite some time later, these guys creep in and save the day in some unexpected way. Slow and steady wins the war.
