Recently a leading German pallet truck and forklift approached builder Norton74 to use his considerable skill to recreate their entire line of vehicles. As you can see it was worth it, not only did he recreate every vehicle, he constructed three scenes to show the typical scenarios of use. I wouldn't have thought you could make warehouse storage and merchandise shifting charming, but there you are.
This genius little build by Dawid Marasek plays whatever song you want by just swapping out the Technic pins on the conveyer. The video shows it playing Pirates of the Caribbean, Frozen and a catchy little tune from a space movie you've probably never heard of.
Everyone wants Totoro for a neighbor, he's so lovable and huggable. Not to disparage the neighbors I have, they're nice enough. But I'm guessing there's a lot of you out there who don't even know your neighbors. So ask yourself this, if you don't know your neighbors, how do you know that Totoro isn't living next door? Food for thought and a fantastic build by Eggy Pop.
People don't live in castles much any more, but when they did I bet they wish they had a great hall like the one in Stonmer Manor by Mitah Val Karem, especially during a cold winter. The two giant giant fire pits keeps it nice and cozy in there I'm sure. And I think if this was my great hall, there would be some seriously cool retractable grills and/or rotisseries for some awesome BBQ.
I've never seen one of these, nor do I know if they exist, but it seems awfully specific and plausible to me. This is a LEGO molding color palette, presumably for checking color accuracy of ABS lots, and I very much want this piece of utilitarian coolness in my collection. Not to diminish the coolness of this brick version by Anthony SÉJOURNÉ, in fact, I'd like one of these too.
Anybody who closely follows the Marvel Cinematic Universe surely is familiar with Agent Philip Coulson, and his fancy car Lola. "Don't touch Lola." PsychoBrick took Coulson's flying car to a whole new level by designing this mech version of the corvette. Seriously, how cool is this model? The inclusion of the printed Lola element fits perfectly into the abdomen section, which I think is really designed well. Overall a very cool and creative model!
Traditions come and go. No one really cooks Christmas goose anymore and I've often wondered why, but after seeing this fully armed and raging turkey by Legohaulic, I have a theory. We humans take way too much pride in our domination of other species, and some day we'll get what we have coming when they rise up. In the mean time there's plenty of leftover turkey in the fridge.
Like Silly String, Squand, play drums and trampolines, some gifts for our children have a secret, prepackaged ingredient, regret. Remembering this toy from my childhood I didn't hesitate to get one for my first child, it was mere hours later I felt an overwhelming desire to call and apologize to my parents for what must have been weeks of torture when I was 4. But I'm sure many gifted musicians out there can trace their skill and passion all the way back to this brilliantly recreated gem by builder Pistash.
The M41A Pulse Rifle from Aliens is one of my favorite sci-fi weapons. Jim Cameron's design paired with Simon Atherton's prop making skills made for a perfect combination of futuristic and plausibility, you just buy it. Builder Missing Brick has assembled one of the smallest, cutest (if a badass military weapon can be cute) versions I've ever seen, with startling accuracy for it's scale. I just wanna pick it up and go "pew pew".
Our pals at FBTB are challenging you to build ships based on the Star Wars alphabet aurebesh. Yeah, those random characters you see all over the Star Wars universe is actually an alphabet, and you can decode any of those messages. All you have to do is pick your favorite glyph (and there's lots of fun ones to choose from!) and build a ship inspired by it. They're giving away some awesome prizes too in the form of X-Wings, including the discontinued 10240 Red Five X-wing Starfighter! Final contest submission must posted to the official contest forum thread no later than 11:59:59PM PST Sunday December 3rd, 2017.
We're also super excited to announce that FBTB is a last minute sponsor of Nerdvember and will be kicking in some vintage LEGO sets to the prize pool. You have a lot of building to do, get to it!
We're thankful for many things here at BrickNerd, but by far mostly for you dear readers. Break out the bricks, pop a turkey in the oven and turn on some football (or at our house A Christmas Story and maybe some MST3K marathon)
Have a happy Thanksgiving if you're celebrating it, if not feel free to eat too much anyway!

How do you fight an invisible threat? How does it feel to be hunted? Why does Arnold Schwarzenegger have such a desirable skull? All of these questions are posed in the 80's classic Predator. One of the weapons of the antagonist and film's namesake is a cloaking device that renders him nearly invisible by bending the light around him, wonderfully envisioned here by builder Grantmasters. A Predator Nerdly would also be a good Nerdvember entry, just sayin'.
Unique fixer-upper opportunity. Do you like to swing a hammer when you're not swinging a machete? Well this is the home for you! Enjoy plenty of fresh air on the second story while spotting for approaching raiders, and keep those carpentry skills fresh as you make improvements to your new abode. You know the utilities work because you can see them all in the open, and who actually likes yard work anyway? Don't let this this one slip away, contact agent sanellukovic today!
Spend any extended time with me and you'll hear three things: Me saying something stupid, but funny, the distinct sound of a rummaged LEGO bin and Beastie Boys playing in the background. I've been listening since 1986 (the year I graduated, sheesh) and have seen them in concert and owned every album. I cheered when they were inducted into the hall of fame and wept when we lost Yauch. So you can imagine my reaction when I saw this absolutely perfect recreation of their first album cover by builder Brick Flag. The attention to detail is stunning, from the logo on the tail to the distinctive damage on the front, it's so good. Now if you'll excuse me, I think I need to get my Brass Monkey on.
This swanky yet inviting interior by builder Heksu makes me want to pour an appletini, put on a classic movie and chill. The color selection and texturing really implies the couch is made of leather, but my favorite detail is the pictures, which are all printed and framed. The books on the trunk are a nice homey detail too.
Let's face it, dinosaurs are cool and fascinating, but also big and terrifying. I don't think we'd be at the top of the food chain had they not been wiped out. But we can sorta bring them back, in mechanical form, and they'd be just as big and scary. Like this brilliant robotic beast by nobu_tary, all pistons and servos, all stompy and bitey. Just hopefully completely under control, or it's back to hiding in holes for us.
I've often wondered what I'd be if I lived in medieval times. Clearly I wouldn't work on movies, they won't be invented for a few hundred years, and we can certainly toss out LEGO blogging. I'm pretty sure I'd be a blacksmith, they're the makers of the period. And if I got to work in a space even partially as charming and picturesque as this little cottage workshop by builder Simon NH, then I'd be totally cool with it. Just look at this place, with it's lively colors and rustic charm you can't help but be drawn in.
I'm loving this series of Star Wars behind the scenes pictures from builder storm TK431. I'm a sucker for a peek behind the scenes anyway, plus it's Star Wars, plus it's LEGO. It's sort of a perfect storm for me to squee. This one captures Harrison Ford between takes while attempting to fix the ever-dysfunctional hyperdrive.
This latest throwback from builder jtheels should be instantly recognizable to generations of boardgamers. It's of course Battleship, the Milton Bradley classic, or at least one of it's iconic little ships at about 10x scale. The whole game at this scale would occupy a couple ping pong tables, and be more fun to play (sounds like a convention stunt, somebody make that happen!)
