One Week Left To Build For Nerdvember 2022

We’re a week and a half away from the end of Nerdvember, BrickNerd fans! It is a month where we get EXCEPTIONALLY nerdy, and we hope you’ve enjoyed the deep dives so far. But Nerdvember also means we are hosting a contest where you can reimagine our mascot Nerdly to win some amazing prizes!

Freakin’ Fantastic

Get your spells and cantrips ready because Nerdly is going on a fantastic adventure! In honor of LEGO Dungeons and Dragons and all things Middle Earth making a comeback, we want you to get creative with our mascot Nerdly in the theme of High Fantasy. (Here are the basic instructions for Nerdly as a PDF download.) You only have until the end of November to build!

What is high fantasy, you ask? Imagine a magical world full of amazing creatures along with danger and mystery. Think of elves and dwarves, wizards and potions, demons and dragons, griffins and goblins, Mistborn and mermaids, mimics and monsters, fairies and unicorns, Narnia and gnomes, and spellbooks and Skyrim. Take a look at the past Nerdly contests and a few of the entries we’ve received so far as inspiration.

Fancy Fantasy Fare

We’re also excited that eclipseGRAFX is sponsoring our Nerdvember contest this year! They are a long-time supporter of BrickNerd and they have a ton of new magic-related accessories like these cool magic potions that we’ll send to the winners.

The top winners of Nerdvemebr 2022 can also expect some pretty fantastic prizes! Third place will receive LEGOLAND Exclusive 40556 Mythica.

Second place will receive Avatar 75574 Toruk Makto & Tree of Souls (it looks kinda fantasy-esque).

And the first-place winner will receive 10300 Back to the Future Time Machine signed by the designer Sven Franic (yep, not fantasy but still a cool prize!)!

Nerdvember 2022: High Fantasy Edition Official Rules

  • Entries must be inspired by Nerdly and themed in high fantasy.

  • The contest will be judged by BrickNerd contributors who will evaluate entries based on concept (is the idea clever and high fantasy), quality (is the creation built well and feature any NPU), and presentation (is the scene composed and photographed in a way that enhances the creation).

  • Entries can be posted either on Flickr or Instagram. A link to your entry should be posted in the Nerdvember 2022 Flickr group linking to the contest and using the hashtags #Nerdvember2022 #BrickNerd and #Nerdly. If you do not have a Flickr account, you can use the hashtags and tag us on Instagram.

  • The contest ends on Wednesday, November 30th, 2022 at 11:59 pm PST (7:59 am GMT on Dec. 1st for the Europeans). Winners will be announced a few weeks after.

  • Please only add one photo/submission of each entry to the Flickr group (extras will be removed). If you upload an Instagram gallery, please make the first image the one you want to be judged. If you don’t have either Flicker or Instagram please email your submission to dave@bricknerd.com.

  • You may enter as many times as you want with unique creations. A single builder can win multiple prizes.

  • All entries must be new creations. Entries may be updated as long as the contest is still open.

  • Digital renders are allowed, though the creation must be structurally sound and all the pieces must be available physically. Custom, modified and unavailable recolored bricks are not allowed this time around.

  • These rules and the prizes may be modified at any point, and prizes may be substituted for comparable items depending on the winner’s location.
