The Colosseum

March 31, 2019/ Tommy

I love hearing the spark of inspiration behind a MOC as beautiful and intricate as this Colosseum by SkyWalter. In this case it’s the 1x2 “jumper arch” that started it all. Those and the new style wands make up the classic arches and columns of this wonderfully realized Architecture style piece.

Ancient Ruins

January 26, 2017/ Tommy

Just looking at this brilliant diorama of ancient ruins by Mark of Falworth beckons you to go adventuring. It's based on an illustration from King Louie's ruins from Disney's animated classic The Jungle Book, and it's absolutely perfect. Can't you smell that jungle air? Hear those bugs and distant drums? Feel the hot air? Taste those ants?

Beautiful Ruins

August 13, 2013/ Tommy

If you've ever tried, you know how unexpectedly difficult it is to render ruins and decay in LEGO. With something so precisely engineered for structural integrity, getting things to look like this can be frustrating. But Ryclen Icre pulls it off beautifully in this MOC, nice work.
