I always find it interesting when I learn of the genesis of a MOC. For instance this excellent creation by Miro78 started with the creation of Luxo, Pixar’s lamp mascot, and evolved from there. The Wall-E figures were already built, but are right at home in this. In fact, I would argue they were built just for it, Miro just didn’t know it at the time.
Character design and animation at Pixar is pretty amazing. If you saw a sketch of Eve from Wall-E before you saw the movie, you would scarcely suspect she was capable of the range of emotions required for the film, but she was. You might also have suspected she would be pretty much impossible to build with LEGO, but thanks to builder LuisPG2015 you can see it's not

I'm super excited about the LEGO Ideas Wall•E set. It's a favorite Pixar character of mine, it's designed by my friend Angus MacLane and a completely awesome model. Well, my pals at The Brothers Brick managed to get their grubby little paws on one (don't ask me how, I don't know the details but I understand lemur sacrifice might have played a role) and have an exclusive review of it! Pictures of Angus MacLane's forthcoming LEGO Ideas set surfaced a few days ago. And you didn't see them here because I have a strict policy on leaks and rumors, namely that we don't go there. But I will say I'm every bit (if not more) excited for that set as I ever was. It looks like the inevitable modifications by TLG actually improved the set, which is sadly usually not the case (for necessary or at least arguable, if not heartbreaking reasons). Builder Miro78 is excited too, and built this wonderful logo.
I know it's a showing a bit of favoritism, but I love this MOC and I'm really hoping it goes to the next level. Angus MacLane's WALL•E has just passed the 10,000 mark, qualifying it for official review by LEGO. If all goes well we can all have an adorable little robot of our own, best of luck Angus!
Director, builder and all around awesome guy Angus MacLane has further refined his already amazing WALL•E and the results speak for themselves. The best news is you don't just have to gawk at pictures of this MOC, with your support, there's a chance you could have one of your very own. Less than 2500 votes needed, it's getting so close!
For the uninitiated, BURN•E is a Pixar short directed by AFOL Angus MacLane that takes place in the world of WALL•E. This version by Brickthing is pure magic, and the fact that it's built in an afternoon is amazing (and discouraging for slow builders like me). Throw in that it's all inspired by the seed part of Iron Builder and you can see why Brickthing is a contestant.
This MOC was posted before I really knew Joe Meno, and back when I was just starting to open my eyes to the AFOL community (you mean there's more LEGO nuts out there?). It remains one of my favorite MOCs of all time. And I'm happy to call Joe a friend now. He was very instrumental to introducing me to a fantastic community, and I probably wouldn't be doing this today if it wasn't for him. Thanks Joe.
