Waiting For Christmas

As we transition into fall, school starts and BrickCon looms, it also means Christmas is right around the corner. Lovely, glorious Christmas, around which the entire kid-year revolves. It would seem LoctiteGirl  is looking forward to it as well, judging by this charming MOC. I love the stars breaking up and becoming snow (although I do have to wonder how those are attached).

VW Busses Everywhere

With FBTB's Star Warsify and Eurobricks Pimp contests both going simultaneously, this is going to be an epic month of mini VW's. They're already showing up and we're barely getting started. Being a big fan of the van, I couldn't be happier.

Armada

This is a seriously chunky mech, perhaps the chunkiest I've ever seen.  I love the color palette and details too, simple things like the 1x1 tiles add so much. Excellent work _TrapleS_!

Update: It turns out this is inspired by another seriously chunky mech, built a year ago by Zane Houston, credit where credit's due...

"I Can Drive That Loader..."

One of James Cameron's true gifts is introducing technology that not only looks cool, but is plausible. You can really believe in the Power Loader. I can still remember watching this thing in Aliens so many years ago and just going "awesome" (with that sort of giddy little nerd dance you do in your seat). I really want to walk around in one of these some day.

Druid's Cottage

This excellent little cottage comes to us from Legonardo Davidy . I really like the diminished foundation, both in scale and construction, it really looks like dilapidated masonry. And the rock work is very cool too. This guy needs to clean up though, the heath department frowns on too many human skulls littering your lawn.

Skullcracker

It's just a shiptastic morning here at BrickNerd, and I'm OK with that. This fighter by Genghis Don is super sweet. I'm even overlooking the blatant use of clone parts here, since it's done to such great effect. You won't find them often here, but in this case I couldn't resist.

Space Eagle

When Kosmas Santosa was challenged by friends to incorporate rail curves into his next MOC, he didn't flinch. Instead he rocked this outstanding ship with transforming capabilities. Not only did he nail the ship, the photography is excellent, this thing's gorgeous.

Serpent Shores

Micro builds make me happy, especially of this quality. Siercon and Coral are back (yes, it's getting a little repetitive, but look a this!) with another entry for Iron Builder. This is one of the coolest, dinky castles I've ever seen, and the action in the bay is icing on the cake.

Technic Batcycle

You can always count on Monster Brick to give you a unique take on something, like his Technic Batcycle. It's like OCC and Bruce Wayne got together to build something so radical the bad guys would just wet their pants when he came around a corner on it.

Orbital Frame Nekhbet

This is a seriously cool mech. I love the color scheme and pose. The use of angles and curves almost lends a disruptive pattern camouflage to it, almost as visually confusing as it is exciting.

E.S.C.H.E.R.

I can't decide what I like best about this. The brilliance of the build, the excellence of the photography or the fantastic description on Flickr. Three things that I can't decide between, like three sides of a triangle, continually going around and around in an impossible cycle.

MDI.042 Tortaga

m_o__k_e_y is back with another excellent mech. This one has a stance and structure I don't think I've seen before. I especially like the back of the legs and the connectivity of the legs to the body. Spindly and chunky at the same time. It's like the illegitimate love child of ED-209 and ATLAS.

Sea Monster!!!

Batten down the hatches, man the pumps, all men on deck! Check out this amazing entry for the Legends of Brickdom Global Adventure Challenge. The sea creature is absolutely stunning, check out those scales, how is that possible? Amazing work LukeClarenceVan!
 

CHARL-Z Vs Fruit Sniper

I'm going to be sad when this round of Iron Builder is over. I'm still getting over when BrucyWan went up against CMaddison, so many MOCs, just, so many. Today we have an exceptional little mech, with rotors no less, up against an absolutely brilliant build of a watermelon caught in the act of being decimated by a sniper's bullet.

Clue

One of my favorite games as a youth was Clue. An exercise in deductive reasoning, and morbid fun. Poor Mr. Body always started out the same, dead. One of the most fun and completely pointless additions to the game were the tiny props. They served no purpose, but we loved to play with them every game. I declare that it was Zack, in the Legoratory with the brick separator!  

A Robot With 'Tude...

...And a washing machine for a head. Fighting stains is serious business on this bot's home world, wherever it is. And if you are unfortunate enough to be wearing stained clothing in proximity to it, prepare to have a dark fate brought upon you.

Venus Fly Trap

Plants that eat things are disturbing. MOCs of plants that eat things are fabulous. Mark of Falworth is still battling fiercely in the Iron Builder, and this latest MOC proves that the hunger is still there. But is it as great as the hunger of this plant? 

Children's Museum Of Discovery

This micro building by Luap31 is so clean and well done it could be confused for an official set. Although I have to confess I have no idea if this is a real building or not. I especially like the profile bricks on their side, and the large art piece out in front. 

Defending The City

I'm not sure of the details on this MOC, I think it's a collaborative build but there's no description. I am sure it's friggin' awesome though. It's an epic battle with multiple fights involving several super heroes. There's tons going on here so you'll have to click through and check out some of the closeups. My favorite details are the "o" from the hotel smashing the car and the street damage where Superman is having the smack down put on him (I'm sure he'll win in the end)

Mr. Mietek

I love when a builder totally thinks outside the box. When the_jetboy saw Jabba's body the first thing he thought was "those would make great shoes" (the first thing I thought was Jabba eats like I do). Add a Deathstar for a head and a wigwam for a body and you have Mr. Mietek, genius!
