Kicking Off The Holidays

We had our first holiday party last night. Actually, we called it a pre-holiday kick-off party. Since traditionally things don't really get started until after Thanksgiving. But you wouldn't know it by walking into Wal-Mart, or any other retailer for that matter. So what the heck, let's get this season started with some charming little elves from True Dimensions.

Shelby GT500

This is a seriously mean looking machine. Shelby is synonymous with muscle, and this MOC by Sheepo is faithful to the name. There's quite a few pictures of this beast on Flickr, click through to gawk.

Indeed

It's a simple proposition, and very inviting. It's my sentiment exactly when I see a pile of bricks. The potential for a simple handful of bricks is limited only by your imagination. And beyond concept this is a nice MOC and photograph on it's own. A cheery little invitation to let your creativity soar.

Fatcat

This hardsuit would terrify any enemy on any battlefield. Unless of course those big tanks on the back are filled with maple syrup or beer. Then it would be welcome.

Barrel Escape

December is almost here, and with it come holiday cheer, ginger bread lattes and... oh who am I kidding, it's all about Desolation of Smaug! Disco86 brings us this excellent MOC depicting the hair raising barrel escape. 

Things That Go Bump

Oh Karf, my day isn't complete without gazing upon one of your wonderfully odd MOCs. This one is particularly odd, and wonderful. I looks like something that hatched from a meteor.

Batkid, You're My Hero

If you've paid any attention to the news or social media, you know that San Francisco was transformed into Gotham City today to make a special little boy's dream come true: to be Batman for a day. Riddler may have tried to steal some money, but Miles, you stole our heart. You're my hero.

I think this is the meanest looking Vic Viper I've seen this Novvember. I really like that cockpit, and it's got just enough greeblies to be interesting. Excellent weight and balance too, I dig it.

Calvin & Hobbs

I've never been much into comics (yeah, bad nerd) but there are a few strips I always appreciated, and Calvin & Hobbs is one of them. This rendition by Bricksky captures them absolutely perfectly. Winter is coming isn't it?

Training By The Brook

This excellent MOC depicts a young William Wallace training, but I'm more captivated by that babbling brook. I've never seen horn pieces used to simulate water texture, very cool effect. The tree is quite nice too.

Upgrade

It's been a long time since I've messed with expansion slots. I switched to exclusive laptop use several years ago. But if the hardware was this irresistible back then I may never have left. Awesome work Brickthing .

Novvember

As many of you know, it's Novvember. No, that's not a typo, it means it's Vic Viper month. This tradition was started by the late, great nnenn and is carried on today by loyal spacers. Here's just a few excellent ships from this years collection, and there are many more.

Bad Guy No. 1

Wow. This awesome bit of militaristic badassery comes from Legohaulic. It's Hayao Miyazaki's Akuyaku. There's even a little pig crew member on top, brilliant.

You Scream, I Scream...

There was no mistaking it. When we heard that distinctive music droning pitifully out of that nearly broken loud speaker we knew what was a nearby. Then it became a desperate race to find mom or dad, make an impassioned plea for some money then charge into the street, frantically searching for the direction of the sound. The ice cream truck was here. Sweet little build Kos.

Riddle Me This

*whonk* (sound of jaw hitting counter top). This is a seriously cool hot rod inspired by Batman villain The Riddler. Once again _Tiler delivers top-notch building and excellent photography, this is gorgeous.

Craving Fruit Loops

LEGO artist and all around swell guy Bruce Lowell completed this toucan as a commission for Nicholas Conservatory and Gardens in Rockford Illinois. I love the contouring on this, notice there's no slopes or obvious SNOT techniques. Just a good old fashioned solid building.

Magic Cave

The glowing water effect in this MOC is achieved with LED strips, and with stellar results. There must be some serious riches in that chest, because from the looks of all the skeletons in this cave there's no way I'd be wading in there.

KRATOS

I was just thinking a couple days ago it's been a while since I've seen a real kickass robot. Luckily m_o_n_k_e_y is here to fill my mechanical gawking needs. The proportions on this thing are quite cool. It's big and beefy without being clumsy. Love those chunky hands too.

You Could Not Wish For A Finer Blade

One of the greatest accomplishments of The Hobbit (and Lord of the Rings for that matter) is the production design. Especially the armor and weapons. The elvish weapons are just gorgeous. And this MOC by Cole Edmonson of Thorin's blade captures the elegant lines and distinct design so well.
