I know it's not hunger, because I just had some amazing pot roast my wife made, but this drumstick by KOS Bricks looks delicious. Paired with some tasty fries (with ketchup, of course) and you've got a pretty yummy snack. Well, a pretty yummy MOC anyway
The Brothers Brick's chibi contest is generating a flood of exceptional MOCs. I don't know if it's the form factor, the builds themselves or the inspiration behind them, but scrolling through Flickr those days is just one squee after another.
Builder LoctiteGirl brings her usual flair for the unusual and stunning visual with this piece called Metropolis. The lighting is an especially cool element on this, as is the scale. I can tell by looking at these photos that this is one of those situations where pictures do not do it justice. But I don't think I'll be getting to Korea to see this in person any time soon. Sad face.

In a move that stunned the AFOL community, builder and pony proponent Iain Heath revealed his true form today. While most community members know Iain as a lanky bespectacled individual with a funny accent, he is in fact a small puddle of goo. Normally a dungeon dweller, Iain has gone to great lengths to disguise his appearance, even taking up residence in a lake side dwelling. "He had me fooled, but I had my suspicions when he tried to murder me that one time" said notable AFOL Guy Himber. Authorities have been notified of this strange occurrence, but as of this writing have taken no action. "It turns out being a small puddle of goo isn't illegal" said officer Harry Snapperorgans of the Seattle police department. "But we're keeping an eye on him just in case". When interviewed Iain could only emit strange squishy noises, but at an earlier date he mentioned an interest in a contest on Flickr. It has been suggested that this is the motivation for his reveal.
We featured nobu_tary's Y-3 Mech Walker a month ago, and at the time I was wondering what or who would be the pilot of such a wild and whimsical ride. Well, I'm afraid I still can't tell you if it's a who or a what, but as you can see, this pilot is rich with detail and character as well.
Confession time, I never watched Lost. As big of a fan of JJ Abrams as I am, I just never did. And every morning after it aired the conversations at work didn't make me want to tune in. Numbers, smoke monsters, hatches, polar bears? I didn't get it and didn't feel I was missing anything. So why post this Lost MOC by fujiia? Because it's slick, that's why.
Life has a way of detouring you from your hobbies, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. John Stephens, the builder of this awesome mech hasn't built much since his son was born, and I think that awesome. Never let work, hobbies or sports come between you and your family. That spreadsheet will still be there when you get back, but your son will only be young and want to play Hungry Hungry Hippos or stack Duplo for a fleetingly short time, never forget that.
Builder Moko is back with a lovely super deformed version of Yamato Armor Girl. Nothing says cute like pigtails, bangs, big eyes....and a cold steel, armor plated battle-ready gun battery. I'd like to say I knew what this was by just looking, but without Google I'm worthless.
Saturday mornings when I was a kid were all about cartoons. We would plop down in front of the console TV, polish off a box of Captain Crunch (while destroying the roof of our mouths) and watch all the greats, Bugs Bunny, Captain Caveman, Droopy, etc. etc. But of course one of our favorites was Scooby Doo and the gang, so this MOC by Bill Vollbrecht gives me a warm fuzzy.
Imagine if you will, some sixty million years ago, that a comet or asteroid did not wipe out the dinosaurs. Where would they be now in their evolution? Not the ones that turned into birds, they're useless, I mean some properly big, pointy toothed beasts. Would they have conquered space yet? Builder Adam Dodge has visualized this for us, and I think it would have been pretty impressive. The bigger question is would they have used a puny human to test their equipment in the early days?
Here's something that goes Vroom! This radical hot rod by sm 01 goes by Fire Bucket, and it's pretty badass. The engine details are excellent, the touches of chrome are tasteful and not over done, the flames are tasteful (as far as flames go). And as if that wasn't enough, this bad boy is motorized and has lights! Check out the video below.
Christmas is only 23 days away, so I'd imagine it's full tilt boogie at the north pole right now. And with so many presents for all the good little boys and girls, delivery can get hectic. Now I know there's nine reindeer up there up to the challenge, but I think if Santa's new sleigh (wonderfully recreated here by Milan Sekiz) works out, they can all have a well deserved retirement.
As is usually the case during an Iron Builder competition, we're going to see a bit of a glut from builders Gilcélio and Arkov. Bus as is also the case, it will be epic MOC after epic MOC as these two titans battle it out. Gilcélio is already off to the races, having built 6 entries to date. But a lull from the opponent is usually ended with a jaw dropping entry, we'll just have to wait and see.
Update: It appears that Arkov has had to forfeit this round due to personal reasons. We know he'll be back and send him best wishes as he deals with the matters at hand.
I got a kick out of this MOC. One of my jobs not related to LEGO is supervising stereoscopic (3D) aspects of movies and visual effects. Yes, I get paid to wreck my vision and make artists cry, but it's for the better good and to save your eyes (you're welcome). So to see a really well composed 3D picture of a MOC is quite a treat. To see the 3D here, just cross your eyes to merge the images. Nice work infrapinklizzard!
During the Creations for Charity live stream, builder Iain Heath slammed out this awesome space guy from some trailer from some movie, Star Trek maybe? I dunno. But it turned out pretty good.
That title is a lie, I can't stand sardines. But I love a good build, and this sardine lunch by builder Gilcelio chagas. There's so many cool things here I don't know where to start. Of course the peeling back of the lid is genius, and the sardines with mixels eyes are perfect. But strangely I'm drawn to the most mundane item, the salt and pepper shaker.
Do you suppose less people would be creeped out by bugs if they were steam powered and had adorable little gears and complex mechanisms inside them? One can only suppose, but we can envision that possibility with this brilliant mechanical beetle by Dwalin Forkbeard.
When I first saw this picture by KOS Bricks I thought it was a bit late for Halloween. Then I thought is there really any time of year that we don't like a good zombie reference? Then I thought of all the poor retail workers out there on this black friday. I'm sure a great many of them will feel like this tonight.
