AFOL extraordinaire Carl Merriam made an appearance on Tested for their annual Octoberkast. In addition to showing off his excellent microscope and Cthulu, he presented the guys with this brick-built version of their logo. Well played sir, well played.
Here's another entry into the MocOlympics. I actually worked on this movie, and have a soft spot for it. I'd love to see this treated with the "SkyCap" look, I think it would be fantastic. Nice work Elliot.
What a great MOC to follow that X-Wing. Welcome to the cockpit of the Millennium Falcon! This was built by for round four of the MocOlympics, Blake vs David.
This may have started as the UCS 7191 X-Wing, but with Teabox's modifications and this stunning display base, it has become even more awesome. It reminds me of the Icons collectible X-Wing (remember that?) but since it's LEGO it gets 1x20d nerd cred.
I'm no fan of sushi. And don't try to tell me "oh, you just haven't had good sushi" , because I've fallen for that before. I've been talked into it several times, and I've come to the conclusion that sushi simply isn't my thing. But I love tuna, and I love this MOC.
This is some first class building right here. This commission of one of the castles of Narnia designed by Paul Vermeesch is just stunning. It was built by elementary students and went from sketch to model in only a month!
This is another entry into the Mini Castle Contest over at Classic Castle, and it's lovely. I'm never certain about the intent of mixing old and new grays (when it happens at my house it's because of bad lighting and colorblindness) but it works well here. I especially like the towers and the supports for the bridge. Nice work Toltomeja.
This MOC makes history pop off the page (pun by BiggerJim). I don't know what porschecm2 built this for, he calls it a "thing for a thing", but it's brilliant. It makes my inner patriot heart soar to see my favorite bricks reproducing such an iconic image. And having it in a book, inspired.
Here's a great little brick film to get you in the halloween mood.
This is so perfect! It's not always easy to capture a character's essence at miniland scale, but madoruk has done it. You knew the instant you looked at this who it was didn't you? Mission accomplished. I especially like Lisa, her silhouette is unmistakable.
Ever since I discovered the AFOL community (you mean I'm not the only one?) I've been a fan of Brandon's work. His building style is clean and whimsical, and rooted in art and pop culture. His diverse portfolio spans multiple genres and building styles, and bridges the LEGO fan world and the general public. All of his work has a touch of humor (and sometimes more than a touch) and a broad appeal.
Read MoreWhen you heard a song you liked on the radio when I was a kid, this is where you went to get it (yeah, dating myself again). The first record I remember buying on my own was a 45 of "Jungle Love", but I also remember joining to the Columbia Record Club when I was nine and scoring "Meco Star Wars" for a penny!
This MOC and buddy icon by Hen Peril cracks me up, and seems appropriate with halloween so close. I'm not sure what terrified this poor chicken, but it must have been something.
Simon Liu (Si-MOCs) has generously put his excellent entry into the Pimp My Nerdly contest up for auction to benefit Creations For Charity. For some reason he thought having me sign it would make it more appealing, go figure. There's also some BrickNerd swag included! If you want to get your hands on this excellent MOC and support a great cause visit this link.
UPDATE: Sold!
This is a gorgeous MOC, beautifully photographed. All black creations are notoriously hard to shoot (tip: it's all about the reflections) but Zceberus nailed it. I love the undercut rock work and the overall proportions. This thing is loaded with detail too, click through for many more pictures.
I don't post a lot of digital creations here, but when they're as wild as this I've got to. This is the Dameselfly Assault Helicopter (although from the font selection it looks kinda like a "Helloopter, which is just as fascinating) . The outside-the-box thinking on this one is great, like sandwiching airplane cockpits, brilliant!
They don't call him monster brick for nothing. Check out this latest supremely creepy arachnid from Matt Armstrong. Just in time for halloween! Now do you feel it? The crawly sensation on your leg? Go ahead, look, I'm sure it's nothing...
This makes me so friggin' happy. My best mate across the pond is the next Cuusoo set! Pete Reid's outstanding Exo-suit is going to be available for everyone to enjoy, I can't wait to get my hands on it. Congrats Pete, it's well deserved!
There are very few shows on TV that innovate, truly take chances and succeed consistently, but Robot Chicken is one of them. Yes, it's a bit juvenile, but it's also damn funny. This clever MOC comes from kashim_inc, and it cracks me up.
This is a dying art form, at least with two classic wheels of steel. I crack up whenever I pass a car with a "CD DJ'S SUCK" bumper sticker, but I have to agree somewhat. If you've ever listened to someone truly rock a setup like this, you probably understand as well. Nice build delta.triangle.

Monet painted his garden many times, exploring changes in color and time of day. Meredith Najewicz follows his lead, rebuilding the LEGO Art Water Lilies set with a darker palette and some creative part substitutions to cast the lilies in a different light.
