With the reveal of this year’s LEGO Winter Village set 10308 Holiday Main Street, we here at BrickNerd wanted to celebrate the upcoming holiday season by trying to do some good in the world with your help. So we’re launching a Festive FUNdraiser for Fairy Bricks!

We’re donating all of the income from LEGO seasonal sets purchased through our LEGO affiliate link through the end of the year. That’s right, you can help sick kids in hospitals by simply purchasing your new Winter Village and other seasonal sets using the link bit.ly/GiveLEGO.

That means for each Advent calendar, Winter Village set, polar bear, Christmas tree, and anything else that LEGO classifies as “Seasonal”, the entire 3% of your purchase that is paid to BrickNerd will be donated to Fairy Bricks. (LEGO classifies lots of things as “Seasonal” so Halloween sets, Lunar New Year, and Flower Bouquet all qualify—and even the Pick-up Truck and Grand Piano for some reason too!) In real money terms, that’s $3 for each Holiday Main Street or a whopping $12 for each Grand Piano.

Fairy Bricks

We love Fairy Bricks and the work they do for the community. They have one very simple objective: to give LEGO to kids in hospitals. Each year, they help send huge boxes of sets to more than 200 hospitals in 27 countries—and they are only getting better at working their fairy magic.

Play is a vital part of the recovery process when children are in the hospital. It provides comfort, a distraction, and is even used as an educational tool to assist children with the procedures they have to endure. LEGO itself as a product is perfect for this. It is an item many children are already familiar with and can provide an instant escape at a very difficult time.

If you purchase your sets physically in stores or if you aren’t planning on buying anything seasonal this year, you can still donate to Fairy Bricks directly on their website. Every bit helps.
