Another month of competitive building is upon us! Are you ready? Here’s the latest batch of LEGO contests and challenges from all around the AFOL community for October 2022 to help you find some inspiration and motivation to build! There’s nothing quite like a theme or a prompt to take you out of your comfort zone and give you something new to try. Besides, contests are the perfect place to interact with other contestants and judges and get to know your fellow builders. And if you’re like me, a deadline helps make sure you actually finish!
We’ve listed them in order of deadline so you can plan your building time to the best advantage. Make sure to check the LEGO activity calendar for local challenges and events near you. Here at BrickNerd, some of our fondest memories, greatest building achievements, coolest trophies, and best friendships came from LEGO contests, so we really hope you try some of these out. We look forward to seeing what you build!
Get in on the theme of October by building mechs!

We would like to see pictures of myths and legends from you this month! You could either use existing myths and legends or invent your own! Check out the dedicated Discord channel below for some well-written inspiration!
Deadline: October 28th
Prize: Just the fun of playing with the bricks!

Time for some spooktacular builds! Follow the instructions on how to build a habitat shell and see how to stack them. Tag your entries #HalloweenHabitats to enter.
Deadline: October 31st
Prize: There will be random prize drawings TBA soon!

Build a Star Wars scene mainly focusing on landscape. We want to see your best rockwork, groundwork, and landscape color combinations! You can also include buildings and minifigures, but the main focus of this contest is to build a scene with the best landscape.
Deadline: November 1st
Prize: The entry winning Best Shaped Landscape will receive the 75338 Ambush on Ferrix set, and a second winner with the Best Landscape Color Combination will receive 3 large Pick-A-Brick cups (pictured here). Additionally, a custom 12x12 vignette will be raffled off among entrants to the contest. Please note, prizes can only be won be in the USA.

Ignite your imagination and showcase your favorite aspects of the Dungeons & Dragons game using LEGO® bricks! For more details, check out the link below!
Deadline: November 14th (6:00 am EST)
Prize: The entry selected by the judges after the fan vote will have their entry turned into an official LEGO set along with all the normal Ideas prizes and compensation that goes with it! The (up to four) other entrants to make the fan vote however will also receive the 31120 Medieval Castle, 21325 Medieval Blacksmith, and a prize package of Dungeons & Dragons goodies!

Enter Wandering Skies! With three categories (8x8 Vig and Fig, Airships, and Sky is the Limit!) and three overarching prizes as well, there are plenty of opportunities to explore and enjoy this exciting new world of floating steampunk islands! Prize: The 21318 Ideas Treehouse, 21313 Ship in a Bottle, and 71746 Jungle Dragon and custom trophies by Steven Erickson for each category respectively

Build a new LEGO MOC based on a real or fictional Black Op. Use of Brickmania products is encouraged but not required.

Eurobricks’ Guilds of Historica is one of the oldest and longest lasting RPGs in the Lego community, recently celebrating its tenth anniversary, and now the final anniversary contest has rolled around with three great categories and lots of amazing prizes!
You are required to have two other Guilds related MOCs to participate, but with a deadline early next year there’s plenty of time to hop on in and join the fun!
Deadline: February 28th
Prize: Awesome sets for first and second place in each of three categories and a raffle!
