Another month of competitive building is upon us! Are you ready? Here’s the latest batch of LEGO contests and challenges from all around the AFOL community for September 2022 to help you find some inspiration and motivation to build! There’s nothing quite like a theme or a prompt to take you out of your comfort zone and give you something new to try. Besides, contests are the perfect place to interact with other contestants and judges and get to know your fellow builders. And if you’re like me, a deadline helps make sure you actually finish!
We’ve listed them in order of deadline so you can plan your building time to the best advantage. Make sure to check the LEGO activity calendar for local challenges and events near you. Here at BrickNerd, some of our fondest memories, greatest building achievements, coolest trophies, and best friendships came from LEGO contests, so we really hope you try some of these out. We look forward to seeing what you build!
What if Tahu was actually a toa of ice? What if the rahkshi were a metal band? What if a bionicle character was from Bondeheads of Voodoo island? Take anything from the Bionicle universe and explore the options of what might have been!
Deadline: September 20th
Prize: Some really cool misprint Kanohi masks for first, second, and third places! There will also be a raffle for participants with five mask packs up for grabs.

In celebration of LEGO's 90th anniversary, and with so few new non-licensed themes these days, it's time for YOU to create the next best In-House Play Theme! It can take any form in any setting: medieval, space, fantasy, underwater, supernatural, action-adventure, etc. etc. as long as it's original and Minifigure-compatible and your own fresh idea! This includes designing a couple of sets, a line-up of minifigures, and descriptions of the theme and sets to go along with them.
Deadline: September 24th
Prize: One winner and runner up of the MOC category get to pick a wonderful LEGO prize pool of choice! (valued at around 200 euro and 170 euro respectively)

Show off exactly what family means to you with some LEGO bricks! We’d love to see games you play together, holidays you’ve been on, and memories that will last a lifetime. Regardless of what family means to you, we want to see it brought to life using little plastic bricks!
Deadline: September 28th (6:00 a.m. EST)
Prize: Have your entry turned into an official LEGO Ideas set, with the corresponding bonus and recognition!

Take us on an Adventure Challenge
Take a LEGO-related picture that tells an adventure - real or fictional, present, past, or future, anything goes! The limit is your imagination.
Deadline: September 28th
Prize: Just the fun of playing with the bricks!

Win awards and recognition for all things LEGO trains with over fifteen separate award categories for 2022!
Deadline: Open for 2022 entries between Sept. 1st and Sept. 30th
Prize: Category winners will receive a $200 voucher for Trixbrix.

SHIPtember
One month, one SHIP, one hundred (+) studs! Just do it.
Deadline: September 30th
Prize: Glory!

Build a Star Wars scene mainly focusing on landscape. We want to see your best rockwork, groundwork, and landscape color combinations! You can also include buildings and minifigures, but the main focus of this contest is to build a scene with the best landscape.
Deadline: November 1st
Prize: The entry winning Best Shaped Landscape will receive the 75338 Ambush on Ferrix set, and a second winner with the Best Landscape Color Combination will receive 3 large Pick-A-Brick cups (pictured here). Additionally, a custom 12x12 vignette will be raffled off among entrants to the contest. Please note, prizes can only be won be in the USA.

Build a new LEGO MOC based on a real or fictional Black Op. Use of Brickmania products is encouraged but not required.
