Nerdly Strikes Back Contest!

A long time ago, in a suburban cul-de-sac far, far away, from me at least, the idea of a new LEGO blog was created. Tommy-Wan, I mean, Williamson, started BrickNerd and built its iconic Nerdly brick. Complete with taped glasses, the Nerdly has been customized from its humble 2x2 red brick origins to just about every character and theme you can imagine. And I can imagine quite a bit!

Now that the BrickNerd saga is back, there’s a New Hope that a contest of building skill and creativity will Awaken a Force of enthusiasm for the site among its readers and contributors.

The rules* are simple. Build a Nerdly, any scale, any theme, physical or digital. The BrickNerd Team will be the judges. Attempts at flattery are permitted. Post your entries, as many as you like, in the Nerdly Strikes Back Flickr Group or on Instagram tagged with #NerdlyStrikesBack. Deadline is February 14th. Need some inspiration?   • 1st Place: - A Golden Nerdly trophy, a super-secret box of swag and surprises, and $200 USD (or local equivalent) toward LEGO Shop @ Home.

  • 2nd Place -A Golden Nerdly trophy, a super-secret box of swag and surprises, and $100 USD toward LEGO Shop @ Home.

  • 3rd Place - A Golden Nerdly trophy, a super-secret box of swag and surprises, and $50 USD toward LEGO Shop @ Home.

*Fine Print Rules:

  • All entries must be new builds. Entries may be updated as long as the contest is still open.

  • Entries can be posted either on Flickr or Instagram. A link to your entry should be posted in the entry thread on Flickr. If you do not have a Flickr account, you can just use the hashtag #NerdlyStrikesBack and we’ll post a link to your entry for you. Please only add one photo of each entry to this group (extras will be removed).

  • You may enter as many times as you want.

  • Any scale is permissible, If you need some help starting, you can find instructions for the ‘classic’ Nerdly for free in our instruction section.

  • Digital entries are allowed.

  • Please refrain from using any custom or modified parts in your entries so everyone has an equal playing field. (We will have future contests where this is permitted.) The rules or prizes may be modified at any point.

  • Contests End February 14th, 2021 at 11:59 PM PST (7:59 AM Thursday the 15th GMT for the Europeans).

  • The contest will be judged by the BrickNerd coordinators, who will evaluate builds based on build quality, presentation and concept.

  • We promise this isn’t a Star Wars thing…
